So using a stationary unit obviously won't work while mobile, not that I would do such a thing. But it appears my rubber roof and 6-foot antenna may not be enough separation. So I guess the Weboost RV will be getting my money. Thanks for everyone chiming in !!Re: Home based cell boosterwa8xym, Thanks for the comment. Pretty much my thought process as well. To the other commenters, yes I am well aware of the FCC regulations. Looking for good communications while parked but doesn't make sense to have two boosters in the RV. I also have this suspicion that adding the words "RV" or "Marine" to a package increases the costs considerably. Maybe I am just cynical. The only other difference is 110volt compared to 12 volts. For me, that is not a deal-breaker.Re: Home based cell boosterexcellent idea !Re: Home based cell boosterAgreed, 10 feet is a little close. For the record, it is a 38 foot Class A, fiberglass shell. I will be mounting on the rear ladder and try to get the internal antenna up near the cab. Still hoping someone will have some information if these Home/stationary boosters have a problem shifting on the move to various towers.Re: Home based cell boosterThe feedback issue would explain the flat panel antenna provided. Will look at the requirement for distance. However none of that really explains Weboost other RV system that is 65db and 100db. Allows you to switch between 65 while mobile and 100 while parked. No change in type of antenna (Omni) nor distance between antennas.Home based cell boosterI looked but haven't seen this issue discussed. Looking at adding a cell booster. They seemm to be a little pricey. Ran across a Weboost 4gHome, About 300.00. Only has a flat antenna so not good for use while driving. The RV models are 500 dollars and North. Here is the question, if I get the 4gHome and add an Omni antenna will that work while mobile? It has more power then FCC allows for mobile and the inverter would need to be on, but would it still work? I heard that the " home" units don't jump from tower to tower efficiently, that true?Re: Water in furnace bayI filled in the old gasket with new foam several months ago. There is nothing above the furnace and it only fills during a hard rain. Below the furnace is the generator so kind of iffy on drilling a hole. Also the particle board they use for subfloor in these things makes me l eary of running water through it. My best guess right now is the cover has a flat grate around the blower exhaust which is probably the culprit. So probably going to look at some kind of hillbilly fabrication to add louvers.Water in furnace bayThis one has been driving me nuts for a while now and I havent found a solution nor anyone else posting about it. I have a 2008 Damon Challenger 37 foot. On the port side is the Atwood 8500. Whenever we get a good rain the floor tray in the furnace fills with water, 1/8 inch or better. This shorts out some part of the electronics, furnace won't start. I get the blower and a spark and the burner fires for 15 seconds or so and then stops and recycles 2 more times and we're done. I dry it out with rags and paper towels, hairdryer and normally I get lucky and she will start. I am tempted to drill a whole in the bottom so water drains. I have redone the weather seal twice and it still fills with water. Anyone got any ideas ?? By the way, it is all original parts.Re: Tow Dolly with surge brakes - recommendations?I will throw in my 2.5 cents. I started with a Master Tow and it worked OK. Had the surge brakes and was towing a Mazda CX5. Had a blow out that completely destroyed the cheap plastic fender. Decided we wanted to tow a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Very low clearance and a long nose. Tested on just about every dolly out there and was afraid we would have to leave the Eclipse at home. Then tried the American Car Dolly. Has removable ramps to help with clearance and is very heavy and sturdy. A nice touch is an electric brake that runs off your Towing vehicles brake light connection. You plug into the towing vehicles 4way and you have lights and electric brakes. Works great.Re: Tire pressure sensorI dont think it is an off brand. "Tire Minder" Maybe I am wrong, didnt feel off when i paid for it. I will be contacting the manufacturer and see what they say just wondered if anyone else was having the same issue
