If it cranks, how long are you letting it crank? I am priming it with the rocker starter/stop switch. But it is not even cranking.Re: Problem starting generatorI have the popular Onan 5500 generator. I don't know if I have 12v dc at the solenoid. I think I have a tester that could tell me, but electronics is my least skillful areas with all this stuff. I feel like an imbecil when talking electronic systems.Problem starting generatorI'm having a problem starting my generator. My batteries are charged. My lights work in the trailer on battery power. But, when I try to start the generator from the switch inside the trailer... nothing. So, I thought I'd be clever and try and start it form the switch directly on the generator itself... still nothing. Thoughts or experience with what may be causing this? Thanks in advance for your help! I appreciate it. AlanRe: help with choosing a toy hauler?I'm in your situation. I've been researching for over a year to upgrade. I recently saw the Momentum toy haulers and realized I'm glad I've waited. They are, IMO, the best out there for the money. Attention to detail in ways I believe is superior to the other brands. I was very impressed and that is the way I'm leaning right now too. I think you made an excellent choice.Re: How Big?You won't need a class 4 or 5 truck to pull the toy hauler. And, you won't have a "monster" truck to have to deal with. A 3500 dual or single rear wheel diesel truck will be fine and will actually be a benefit and not a burden when you get to your location. A toy hauler provides a lot of flexibility for what you will be doing. The garage can be used for an office or to carry a RZR or golf cart or other onsite transportation or both. I think it makes sense, but you need to decide what will work best for your specific situation.Re: Toy hauler choices. Opinions needed. sncw wrote: We just bought a new TH after about three months of looking at different brands and models. Anyways after may different trips to different RV dealers we decided the best QUALITY and workmanship was from Grand Designs Momentum. I felt the next runner up was the Fuzion. We ended up ordering a Momentum 388M with options we wanted and got a awesome deal at Vermont Country Campers, as they blew the other dealers out of the water on price. MSRP was almost $93,984 and we got it for low $60's. If you haven't check out the quality of the Momentum's I recommend you do. After nearly two years of researching and looking at many many units I couldn't agree more. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Grand Design Momentums. Their attention to detail is great. If you are looking and trying to decide, I strongly encourage you to look at the GD Momentums, they may have a floor plan and colors you like. And they are lighter too compared to others.Re: Hauling RZR XP1K-4 in 12'-6" Garage? Dwight45 wrote: It will work if you don't have bumpers. You will have very little clearance so it will have to be locked down pretty solid. Dwight Thanks for the input. I've decided that I won't even consider a garage smaller than 13'... So, I'm now only looking at floor plans with a garage at least 13'... Liking the Grand Design Mclass Momemntum 388M model... will keep looking and researching.Re: Best place(s) for Insurance ?Progressive has consistently given me the best rates and coverages for RVs for the past several years.Re: Surprisingly Impressed CJW8 wrote: I really liked them to when I was shopping. I settled for a Keystone Raptor only for a $20K price difference. So far I am happy but I did really like the Grand Design's. There must be something different to your situation than comparing like for like to have a $20K difference. The new Fuzions, Raptors and Voltages I looked at with exactly the same floor plans as the GD Momentum are all roughly priced in the mid 70s. What is the difference for your situation? Same year? Floor plan? Options? Very interested in your experience and situation.Surprisingly ImpressedI have been researching and looking at new 5th wheel toy haulers as consideration for an upgrade from my current bumper pull. I went to the Utah dealer for Grand Design and looked at their Momentum and WOW. I wasn't expecting what I saw. Very well finished. Better than anything I've ever seen to date. Attention to detail seems quite a bit above others I've looked at. Little things that were finished professionaly and nicely. Real wood trim around the doors and fit perfectly. Hidden edges under beds finished. Clean lines. It just popped for me. I think under the surface they are using most of the same components everyone else is so I'm sure they will have their share of "RV" problems. But what a pleasant surprise and what seems great attention to details that caught this consumers attention.
