I think you and others have answered my questions and I appreciate your efforts on my behalf. I live in a very small town, about 1000 people, and I don't think the local government cares much about what you do on your own property. I will hire an electrician to run the power and a plumber to hook up the sewer. Thanks for your help. :)Re: Hookups at home hbrady wrote: Arcamper wrote: We did more than put in hookups, we actually made a campsite on the back of our property. Full hookup site (100 amp electric, water and sewer) with fire ring and table plus in ground lighting. Now when the family comes to visit we give them the house and we move to the camper. Works out great! Very Nice! No kidding!Re: Hookups at home SoundGuy wrote: mountainrivers wrote: Assuming I buy a used camper and expect to use all the options, including A/C, how much power will I need? In your original post you said you merely wanted to use your rig as "a bedroom for overnight guests", now you're saying you want to "use all the options". :h Seems to me you first have to decide what it is you really want to achieve, then base your solution on that conclusion. I want my guests to have all the comforts of home, especially if I'm relegating them to an RV. I'm thinking things like A/C, tv, interior lights, coffee maker, microwave oven, etc. I would like to have all of those things available in the event that my guests would need them.Re: Hookups at homeGeez, Sound Guy, that all looks way more complicated than I would have thought. Assuming I buy a used camper and expect to use all the options, including A/C, how much power will I need? In the past, with our motorhome, I plugged into 30 amp service at campgrounds and that seemed to be sufficient. Do I need that much at home, given the above?Re: Hookups at homeThanks! I usually go with the old saying that it's easier to do something and ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission.Re: Hookups at homeThanks to everyone who has commented on my post and to any who might. For those who have done this and not done it themselves, what is the approximate cost to install a sewer line clean out and a 50 amp service?Re: Hookups at homeWow! The waste pump kit sounds like the ideal solution and I guess I can just run a garden hose for fresh water. Does anybody know if local regulations are involved with doing any of this?Re: Hookups at homeThanks for that information. We would also like to connect water and sewer if possible. Have you considered that, and, if so, how did you connect to the sewer?Hookups at homeHas anybody installed hookups at their home so the camper can be used as an extra bedroom for overnight guests?Re: Apps for laptopsThanks for the answers folks. Guess I'll need to buy something. :(
