Obviously you must cut some of the wires etc. Can this "kit" be made with everyday items that might already be in our toolbox? I couldn't find a website that would have this information...Dennis The hard part of this install is the long reach needed for the install. All that is needed is some auto wire, connectors, & tools to cut and crimp wires. Remove the sliding cover fuse (driver side front compartment) Remove the 2-wire plug from the motor and cut both wires going to the relay box. Cut at the relay box end because you will need enough wire to crimp the new wires to. Disconnect the 4 wires going from the relay box to the (CC) wires. Note the relay box wire connector ends because you will need 4 of them for the new wiring kit. Relay box is now completely disconnected (not needed). Wiring kit: Cut 4 pieces of wire appro. 18" long. Crimp the connector ends (male/female can't remember) on all 4 wires. Take 2 wires and crimp together with a standard connector. Do the same with the other set. Now you have 2 sets of a "Y" configuration. Now crimp each set to one of the motor wires. Install the plug back into the motor. Insert the new wires into the original (CC) wiring connectors. Motor wire: ........... (CC) Country Coach wires RED WIRE ------------- BLUE WIRE & YELLOW WIRE BLACK WIRE ------------ BLACK WIRE & RED WIRE or YELLOW WIRE Replace fuse and test. Tie wrap the wires and your are done.Country Coach sliding step cover malfunctionI have 40' 2003 Country Coach Intrigue First Avenue. The sliding step cover malfunctioned and would not close. I checked some of the old posts and it sounded like I needed to replace 2 micro switches. After looking under the coach I could see this would be one hell of a job to complete. I called Country Coach service department and they said this was a common problem with the cover. They gave me the phone number of the manufacture of the cover. Talked to the owner and found out that there is wiring kit that can be installed that will bypass the micro switches. It is a very simple 2 wire kit that will bypass the relay box and connect directly to the step motor. It takes about 15 minutes to complete the installation. My step cover now works like it did when new. Buy kit from: Knudtson Mfg. Inc. 489 Front St. Junction City, OR 97448 541-998-8456
