All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Water refill when dry campingLots of good ideas here. I always took the simple route. My 6 gallon cans (I carried 6 of them) all have built in pour spouts and are vented so YES they are a PITA but at least it becomes a one person job.Re: HELP trailer sway almost killed us!First question that comes to mind with me is "what are you towing with?" Short wheelbase vehicles like Wrangler and some others are more likely to have problems with sway and ALSO what kind of anti sway system are you using to hitch up? Pop up trailer are sway prone and having SOME sort of anti sway equipment is always a good idea. Usually something as low tech as a friction bar will work wonders at keeping the trailer tracking well behaved behind you. Speed, as already mentioned is another HUGE problem. I have NEVER SEEN any kind of tow able trailer sway while standing still. The further you get away from that rock steady state the more likely sway is to happen. Breaks are another issue but probably not relatwed to your sway but could make getting OUT of it difficult so I would make sure they are correctly adjusted and the controller is correctly set. Proportional controllers are best but even a timed controller should work when you hit the slide on it.Re: What battery do you use for your PUP?Usually battery size and type of based on what you NEED for your type of camping. Off grid often with no electric hook ups and staying extended times make make a big beefy battery necessary but camping in state parks or other places with electric hook ups and you really don't need much at all. Deep cycle in EITHER case if you will be running the battery DOWN to any degree at all because car batteries don't like that to happen very often. Good luck / SkipHappy Labor Day for all who have no problems keeping roof upLooking for some advice concerning a power roof Rockwood pop up. I do not have the model number (my daughter just purchased it) but the roof goes up just fine but as soon as you take your finger off of the jack button it coasts back to the closed position again. I took it apart looking for some sort of brake that is supposed to stop this from happening or a pawl that would prevent a gear from reversing and found neither. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Dealer where she made the purchase is a couple of hundred miles from her home and apparently closed today also. It is a 2016 model with a dinette slide room and a bay window pop out kitchen. Thanks / SkipRe: Configuration for keeping the fridge going while drivingCheck the wind deflector on the fridge and make adjustments. Probably will always be a problem unless you have DSI ignition on your fridge. With that there is no pilot light to blow out.Re: GPS suction cup adherence to windshieldEasiest and cheapest solution that works VERY WELLVent clip from Office MaxRe: Black tank- dump it or leave it?Use plenty of water and you can dump when it's convenient. GOOD idea to do as you are doing though because what you want to avoid is dumping a tank with less than about 3/4 full. That is where you get clogs. Be sure if you dump and leave the RV, put a few gallons of water back in while it's not in use of THAT will build that mound of mineralized materials that causes a clog.Re: towing in Grand Teton NPSmooth sailing. Relax and enjoy the tripRe: Advice please Leaking Rubber roof TravelcraftFor larger areas which it SOUNDS like you have, you can purchase EPDM material from many commercial roofing companies and create a patch glued to the old roof material and caulked at the edges or eternabonded instead of caulking (your call). I would recommend that the patch overlap the edge of the part that is damaged by six or eight inches. Good luck / SkipRe: EPDM RoofPlane old soap and water is best for cleaning and EPDM does not require any conditioning. My product of choice is "simple green". What DOES need attention is caulking on your rubber roof (same as with metal, fiberglass and vinyl roofs). Inspect it and do repairs before cleaning. EPDM and other roofing materials almost NEVER leaks but caulking does. Good luck / Skip
