Not really true You can fill a LP Tank with out the bleeder valve being open - but on MH tanks it is difficult to weigh the LPG Tank and some (a few) RVs do not have a gauge so this valve is used to give an indication when the tank is 80% full and is often called a "..80%..valve". My 500 gallon stationary LP tank is always fill without using its valve being open but is filled to 80%, as indicated by its level gauge. The same is true on all LP Tanks - for example portable tanks are usually filled on a scale (filled by weight) and LPG as is not usually vented during a fill. And there is no need to give "...the air someplace to go... as there is no air in the LP tank. The filling is done under pressure without any need to vent. pheArkansas park on I40A few years back when I owned a MH I made several trips from NM to NC - moving for a new job - and I remember a park in Arkansas that was advertized in on a large sigh on the side of I40 near Conway AK. The sign had a very strange "name" and the distance to the park. I can easily remember the sign but not the name of the park. My memory ain't getting any better the older I get. I know it isn't much to go on but maybe someone someone could make sense of my confusion. PHERe: GPS Buster52 wrote: ......My buddy used his gps on a Motorcycle trip. It put him down a dirt road full of ruts. So I want to avoid problems while driving my 5th wheel. Quite likely your "Buddy" selected "SHORTEST" when ask to select the route. If he had selected "FASTED" he would not have been routed on back, dirt etc. roads. This is a common problem and is often written-up (newspapers, TV News Stories, etc.) and often a "First-Time User problem" pheRe: Waterless coolant Gjac wrote: Will the waterless coolant do anything to remove the mineral buildup inside your old radiator? Is the specific heat transfer greater than 60-40 water and antifreeze? If not I don't think it would be worth it for an old radiator. Here's a LOOONG article about (a specif) brand of waterless coolant - http://www.norosion.com/evanstest.htm. I do not know if "your" bend of "Waterless Coolant" is the same thing or not, but it gives some things to think about "SUMMARY OF FINDINGS Conversion costs of $259 if you do it yourself, or over $400 if you pay a shop to do it. 97%+ removal of all previous coolant is mandatory in order to prevent corrosion. Inhibitor deposition occurs on aluminum surfaces, which could cause issues in some radiators. Engines run 115-140oF hotter (at the cylinder heads) with Evans products. Stabilized coolant temps are increased by 31-48oF, versus straight water with No-Rosion. Reprogramming ECU fan temp settings is mandatory to prevent the fan from running continuously. Specific heat capacity of Evans waterless products ranges from 0.64 to 0.68, or about half that of water. Engine octane requirement is increased by 5-7 numbers. Computerized ignition must retard engine timing by 8-10o to prevent trace knock. Engine horsepower is reduced by 4-5%. Accelerated recession of non-hardened valve seats in older engines is possible, due to brinelling. Viscosity is 3-4 times higher than what OEM water pumps are rated to accommodate. Coolant flow rate through radiator tubes is reduced by 20-25% due to the higher viscosity. Race tracks prohibit Evans products because they are flammable and slippery when spilled." Sure - It was a Fleetwood Pace Arrow It leaked everywhere, the roof leaked, the sidewalls leaked. the windows leaked, the windshield leaked. If it had been a boat we would have sunk and drowned. But not being a boat it just dry-rotted in the walls, the floor, the roof, etc. PHE
