One is gray coax, the other is black. Pulling out the end that was tucked behind the cabinet, it has a handwritten Sat Ant taped to it. It is the black coax coming from the roof. SO I am assuming the gray coax is the batwing. I will do the tests you suggest Bill. IN regards the the Ant power, I don't see a power option in the component cabinet for the antenna per say...I have a TrackVision switch that has a power button and a Sat Selection button. Should we assume the power button also powers the batwing antenna?...I know I can test that in the ways you mentioned...just spitballing before I have a chance to actually test it. I also have a panel that says To Satelite Receiver with an Input and Output connector. There are no switchers or boxes in the cabinet....just a rats nest of coax and the simple silver Walmart style coax splitter. Thanks for your help!!!!!Help needed on cleaning up a mess of TV cables on older rig!Hey all! (Please move if in the wrong area) I am getting back into RV'ing after a short hiatus. I am re-entering having purchased a 2006 Four Winds Hurricane 34N. Good rig, and the 2 TV's have been changed out to flat screens. However, the owner just set them up to run off of cable only, and there is a small silver splitter that sends the feed to the back TV. On top of that the rig has an original in motion sat on the roof which doesn't work today. The original switch box is long gone as it died several years ago. The front TV cabinet looks like a spaghetti western!!! A huge rats nest. He stated he never used the batwing antenna, and I don't even know if the antenna wire is still routed in the cabinet, but it could be among the mess. Here is what I want to do....and would love your advice on. 1. Eventually I may get a Dish tailgater, but not now. I won't be using the rig for a while (remodel in play). Should I prepare for this now? If so, how? 2. I want to get the TV cabinet organized, 3. I need to find the antenna feed. I need to get it operational, or connected so it picks up over the air stations. Whats the best way to do so short of tugging on the cable from the roof? Is it a different color or thickness? 4. My past rigs had an antenna power switch, but there is none to be found in the cabinet. Any ideas on why that may be? Will this be an operational issue? 5. I want to install a couple DVD's in the rig. I will need a switcher of sorts I am assuming to go from antenna to cable to dvd....any ideas on what is on the market today that would work for this? Hopefully one that would accommodate the future Dish option. What is everyone using who's had to do an upgrade like this? Do I need a modern switch of sorts? One of those black boxes that will allow options in viewing? IF so, one or two? 6. Would you remove the huge in motion dish up on the roof, or let lying dogs sleep? It is not creating a leak issue at all. The seller left a cable tester device which should come in useful once I figure out how to use it lol. Thanks for reading this long post, and I appreciate all input!Re: 2006 In-Motion Satellite QuestionThanks Guys, I was figuring it was a long shot with HD. I will be fine with over the air signals and cable at campgrounds!Re: 2006 In-Motion Satellite Question rk911 wrote: you'll likely need the mfg and model number to get an answer. Sounds good, I will see what I can get from the owner. Otherwise, should he not have the paperwork I guess a trip to the roof is in order to pop the cover?2006 In-Motion Satellite QuestionHey Folks, I am looking at RV's and have my eyes on a local 2006 Hurricane. Went to look at it today. It has an in-motion satellite installed, although the current owner states he has never used it, or attempted to use it. He has owned the rig the past 7 years. My question is would this age in-motion system support today's Dish Network technology? Thanks for you insight. KeithRe: Rig Starts, No Power to House or 12V Dash Items dougrainer wrote: Unlike a Car, Tiffin powers items Tiffin installs NOT THRU the chassis fuse box. The Items you listed are powered thru the Coach Battery and the chassis, but required the coach batteries to be powered up to engage the relay/solenoid that is activated BY the chassis ignition on side of the key switch. There are separate fuses for those items but they are a Tiffin installed fuse box. You need to get a quick jump to the dead coach batteries using jumper cables. Once you have 12 volts to the coach batteries the Emergency start switch will be able to activate and use a toothpick to hold switch ON. Run the chassis engine for about 20 minutes and that should be enough time to get the Genset to start. Once the Genset starts, leave it on for about 4 hours. That will be long enough for the Inverter/charger to charge up the coach batteries to full. Remove the toothpick once the genset starts. Doug Doug, first, thank you so much, your instructions were perfect...I jumped the house batteries and the genset started right up....I will get it home and plug it in to finish the charging. Do you have step by step instructions on shutting everything down when you place your rig in non powered storage? KeithRe: Rig Starts, No Power to House or 12V Dash ItemsAnother Tiffin owner stated he shut off the house batteries and he did not have power to his wipers, back up camera, step, mirrors, shades, etc, so that mystery is solved. I will go out and high idle the rig and hope the house batteries come back to life enough to get this rig home and plugged in.Rig Starts, No Power to House or 12V Dash ItemsHey Folks, I have a 2016 Tiffin RED PA37 , which is a DP on a Freightliner Chassis, which we just bought (it was 8 month used rig) and took on a 2500 mile trip. When I got it home, and placed it in storage last week, all was good. I do not have power at my storage facility. I did fail to turn off my inverter but had my management system programed to start the genset if voltage dropped to 11.5 volts. Went out to the rig last night and I can start the rig, but I have zippo house power, and no power to the genset, wipers, nor the power step, power shades, camera, radio, mirrors, etc, etc. Nothing....alll deal, but the rig starts up. I could find no breakers tripped, nor are any battery switches turned off. I am stumped, but then again my last coach was a gasser and all I had to do was turn off the salesman switch and alll was good till the next trip. Any ideas other than the batteries are dead? But if the house batteries are dead, which I get, then why does the rig start on the chassis battery yet I have no power to the dash items? I thought they ran off the chassis battery. Thanks for your ideas and insight. It was recommended on the TIffin stite to go out start the rig, put it in high idle for an hour or so and try to get a charge to the house batteries. I can not bring it home to plug it in with the steps out and without the other powered items working. Thanks all!Re: Genset (2016 Tiffin RED PA37) won't start. Thanks everyone for your input. This site rocks!!!Re: Genset (2016 Tiffin RED PA37) won't start.Wayne had it right!! That was it. Thanks Wayne. I owe you dinner!!
