Having the same result as the other starter solenoid *click-click* on - off. However this is a super cheap-o one from amazon that I am sending back. I will order a more higher end one instead of the bargain bin deal when I arrive at my next destination. Hopefully it will get me a different result as for now we are in the middle of preparing for a move up into Ithaca and who knows maybe I will find some electrical guru on the way. Until I can get back to digging around tho we will be side barring this whole ordeal. Thanks once again to everyone for your input and time.Re: House batteries are charged but wont work. Thanks 4x4van, seems like you're agreeing with us. Im not concerned about the emergency start as much I am just the house batteries and I'm hoping that replacing it with the correct solenoid or relay I will be able to get things working correctly and then go from there. One thing at a time because it seems every time I go to fix one problem I find two more. :RRe: House batteries are charged but wont work. RLS7201 wrote: Not sure what Fleetwood installed on the 2000 Flair. You should either have this self latching relay to disconnect your batteries or this self latching relay............ Richard The second one is identical to the one that the coach battery is hooked up to. Which I believe would work with what I am trying to do. I have seen the first one but I'm pressed on time and had to order one that would hopefully work and has had some feed back for similar use. I chose a cheaper one that I don't expect to put a heavy load on just need to be able to run the lights at night and the pilot light for the fridge. From what I have gathered I dont need a heavy duty one and I am willing to roll the dice. My main intention for this is to see if this is where my problem is.Re: House batteries are charged but wont work. MrWizard wrote: you held the switch down, and the relay/solenoid burned out that means it was NOT rated for continuous duty please post pictures of what you are replacing So I've looked into this and it seems this could be the problem. The solenoid I have currently is a starter solenoid. I will replace it with a continuous duty solenoid/relay. I gotta say though I am not finding any locally and the ones that I am seeing online do look identical to my current one. Some are black and shaped differently but the ones I am looking at are indeed continuous duty and people say in the comments they've used it on their RV for their AUX battery. To answer the question on where the click is, it is the silver shiny solenoid that is making the clicking sound when I use the switch for the house batteries. I will update you on my progress. Thanks everyone for your time and comments its greatly appreciated and has been a lot of help.Re: House batteries are charged but wont work.https://ibb.co/dJJ8mJRe: House batteries are charged but wont work. The fuses that are missing are the LPG Leak Detector - I put them back in today to test that out but it just set the alarm off. I imagine thats why the previous owner had them out.Re: House batteries are charged but wont work. Re: House batteries are charged but wont work. Harvey51 wrote: The “house battery switch” must have failed or a momentary contact switch was installed by mistake. When you say this, are you referring to the switch inside the rv that turns the lights and everything on, or the solenoid. I need to clarify because I am getting confused with all the terms I see that solenoids are also called relay switches. Just to recap. Every time I hit the switch to turn my house batteries on. They work but only when the switch is held down. Also when hitting the switch you can hear the solenoid switch over but immediately switch back upon release of the switch. I have held the switch down and the first solenoid stopped working all together. It would still click but no power. The click is what helped us locate it and replace it. When we replaced it we were back to having the original issue. During all of this the generator never has been able to start assuming the batteries were the issue. What I HAVE discovered that the generator gets power when plugged into shore power. Which tells me its not getting any power from the house batteries. Which confuses me even more. Shouldn't the positive line running to the generator have power when not plugged in to shore power and coming from the house batteries? I have also discovered when trying to use the AUX starter for the engine it does not do anything other than make the noise like the solenoid. "click - click" and nothing happens. I have located that relay switch/solenoid (I assume) and it is separate from the other solenoids. I feel like this problem is related to a bad fuse inside the BCC but wonder if it is somehow related. I am open to more suggestions on what to check. Grounds are good Checked lines, power converter and batteries with volt meter and seem to be in order. Is there a schematic that I could look at that can help me trace where my wires go? One last question, on the same solenoid as the house batteries two large lines run on each side along with some smaller lines. The one line comes from the house batteries and also connects to another area and on the opposite side there is a mystery line that runs to, I dont know where (I assume the power converter but there is no charge coming off of it) and it connects to the AUX starter. Any idea where the mystery line is going or coming from?Re: House batteries are charged but wont work. What does the Reset look like and what is the general area for it?Re: House batteries are charged but wont work.My rig is a 2000 Fleetwood Flair, my generator is the Onan microquiet 4000. The generator does run but I have to disconnect the lines that connect it from the house batteries and jump it. Unable to work on anything due to terrible weather. Thanks for the mechanic wisdom. Everything is said is incredibly accurate to my experience. I am going to take the time and check all the lines more thorough and see if I can find anything. If anyone has any advice on where to get started it would be appreciated. I also plan on trying to touch the 2 wires together on the back like shastagary suggested.
