Will do.Re: Winterizing dishwasher and washer/dryer combo?Yeah, I was trying to stay away from antifreeze by blowing out the lines. Don't like the taste of the lines in spring.Winterizing dishwasher and washer/dryer combo?I've drained and then blown out the lines on our 92 Monaco Crown Royale and I'm 100% sure the tanks and water heater are clear, but I'm not sure what to do about the dishwasher or washer/dryer unit. How does one make sure that there is no water in them that will freeze over winter (it goes to -40 here in winter).Re: What has happened to Winnebago Quality? When a unit was sold, I (or an employee) again went over it, this time with an eye for proper system operations, and wrote up another batch of work orders if necessary. This was all free and there was none of this charging a customer for the PDI or walk-thru as is the case with some dealers today. I said it then, and I say it today, if you get a unit that functions properly, with few if any defects, thank your dealer and not the manufacturer. If you get a unit with issues, you can be ticked off at both. This makes a lot of sense. Thanks for your input from the 'inside'. But it does beg the question if as a consumer group, we're just a bit too 'nice' as consumers to put up with this kind of delivery system. It's not like these are "cheap" econocars. Some of you are paying 250k and much more for a rig. At that price, I'd be LIVID if I had to put up with more than a couple of very minor issues. Reminds me of the early 90s when my father was testing a new model Mazda that had 300 miles on it. Oddly, it was priced higher than the 0 mile units in the showroom so we heckled the salesman a bit. His reply, with half a grin was "but this one is more because it's had all the bugs worked out of it". He might have had a point.Re: Diesel generator just a bit too loud - how to quiet it down?Interesting. What's the name brand on that one?Re: What has happened to Winnebago Quality? darsben wrote: mike brez wrote: NorthOrSouth wrote: Well if it's any consolation you're making me feel really good about buying a 92 Monaco Crown Royale for our first DP. I just lie in bed and look at the wood grain, the fit and finish, the precision craftsmanship of every door and trim and marvel that I could buy this quality for less than my friends new Honda Accord. My mantra is I'd rather have older quality things that have been well cared for than new things. This also goes for my wife. So you like a older wife with a nice fit and finish :B as long as she was well cared for before he took over;) As long as she lets me admire the craftsmanship, I'm not complaining :)Re: Security system instead of RV specific system?Totally agree. I actually wasn't even considering using the mounts they come with. My first thought was that I'd have to build my own housing to keep them aligned and protected. Not hard for the rear view since there's already a mount built in to the back wall, but the side mounts could be tricky. Since they're cylindrical, possibly mount them inside a chrome pipe that gets bolted to the bottom of the mirror mounts? As for the front mount, my Monaco is old school enough to have a remote control spotlight up there, so mounting a camera onto that would be kind of cool. Not only full directional control but instant light to get clear shots at night. Now if I could just mount a BB pistol on it too the crows at my favorite parking spot would have a little present with their 5 am chatter :)Re: What has happened to Winnebago Quality?Well if it's any consolation you're making me feel really good about buying a 92 Monaco Crown Royale for our first DP. That one has a remote which isn't mentioned in the Costco ad. Slight differences: Cameras are lower resolution and no mention of motion detection feature. But a far better price. You lucky 'Mericans. Amazon.com is always three times the selection and at least 1/3 cheaper than amazon.ca I have to drive 8 hours to a postal outlet in MT to collect all my US orders and even with fuel costs it's a better deal. We Canadians get hosed!Re: Proper charge/use cycleOr turkey basters ;)
