Dometic refrigerator issues
I own a 2006 Fleetwood Southwind with a Dometic RM3862 refrigerator that quit cooling on my last trip. The control panel on the front of the unit seems to be working. The panel indicates when the refrigerator is switched from Ac to gas. I have tested the AC current at the receptacle at the rear of the unit and there is sufficient power. In addition when switched to AC the amperage draw increases on my power management system. When switched to gas, the burner seems to be working fine. I can hear when it ignites and remains on. However, the unit is not cooling at all on either AC or gas. I did detect a slight ammonia smell at the rear of the unit while the gas burner was on. I had to get very close in order to smell the slight odor. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.1.5KViews0likes8CommentsBack up camera issues
I am having ongoing issues with my backup camera/monitor losing the picture by turning blue after 30-60 seconds of being on. A couple of years ago one of the Fleetwood authorized service centers replaced my rear camera and monitor in an attempt to address this issue, but with limited success. It did improve for a short period of time, but is occurring more frequently now. I am wondering if it could possibly be a problem with the cable between the camera and monitor that is the issue. I recently removed three windows from y 2006 Fleetwood Southwind to clean the clouded windows. Upon removal of te windows I discovered I had a rubber type seal instead of butyl putty seals. I have gone to several RV dealers and none of them have ever seen or know of any seal material other than the putty tape. If Nyone has see this type of rubber seal before and know where I can order it I would appreciate any guidance.1.3KViews0likes6CommentsFleetwood RV paint
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Southwind that is garage kept, but the paint appears to be fading. The color is tan and in certain areas there are lines that are appearing through the paint that look like ribs in the Fiberglas. In addition the painted areas between the decals have the appearance of spiderweb fractures that are very fine black lines. I tried washing, using a finishing compound and a couple of other cleaners to no avail, including black streak remover. All suggestions will be appreciated.1.3KViews0likes2Comments
