I am the asst. operations manager for ASM that runs all the Campground in the Allegheny National Forest (N.W. PA)for the U.S. Forest Service. At several of our campgrounds at the end of the weekends you find the dumpsters are full of brand new tents and other camping gear. One Sunday afternoon while making my round at one of the campground I see a guy throwing away a tent and cooler so I stop and ask him why He tells me that they live in a apartment in a city just across the OHIO line and don't have room to store the camping gear and that they only go camping once a year so every year they buy new stuff and throw it away after one use.482Views0likes0CommentsRe: 6.0L gas RE vs mpg
I had an 06' reg cab 8' 4:10 with the 4speed trany. Traded it on a 2011 crew cab 6' 3:73 with the 6 speed. both had 6.0 there was no noticeable difference in mpg. but the 2011 does tow a lot better the 6 speed more than made up for the rear gear difference and I tow a 16,000 # 5er331Views0likes0CommentsRe: How often to clean the bathrooms?
As a campground mgr. and asst. operation mgr. for the concessionaire in the Allegheny National forest. I say your in the woods you got to expect a little dirt. I tell my hosts restrooms should look clean and smell clean. if customer walks thru the door and the smell of disinfectant and bleach hits them in the face they will over look a little dirt from use. They should be totally cleaned top to bottom once or twice a day then spot cleaned and checked about ever hour or two in between depending on usage. I put the disinfectant and bleach mixtures in one gallon garden sprayers that way during the spot cleaning a quick sweep and damp mop spray the floor down and they stay fresh smelling405Views0likes0CommentsStabilizers
With a tag along I was will to put up with a lot wiggling a jiggling when sobody else was moving around in the trailer. Now that I have a heavy 5ver i admit the wiggling is lees than with a tt but I'm think that it could still be better. I see all of these stabilizing product out there a was woundering if any of them work as good as promised. I'm looking at a set of laterial braces that hook onto the landing gear for about $400.
