Tomorrow I'm going to check out the A/C and figure out where I want to install some 12v outlets for fans. Later in the week when it cools down a bit I'm thinking I'll give it a nice coat of wax. That’s just not right ! ??Re: Buying a Winterized TrailerWe bought ours in November. It was winterized. Come spring I could not get it to draw water from the fresh water tank. It would draw from antifreeze jug on bypass but not from water tank. Turned out that from the factory the suction side of the pump was hooked to the black tank flush instead of the fresh water tank. Dealer was great. Dropped the cover under the TT and did a very professional job of hooking the plumbing up correctly. Also gave us a gift certificate for our trouble of having to bring it back. So yes, you could have an issue come spring but not likely. Good luck with your decision.Re: Ram slide question. Thanks to all. Guess I'm an over thinker.Ram slide question.Should rams on super slide be equally spaced? Mine has the rear slide about 1 foot from the rear and the other is about 4 feet from the front. Seams to work okay but comes in slightly angled. If anyone has a similar setup could you tell me if there have been any problems with it?Re: Suggestions on finding a new TT?We do have a Coachmen Apex. Two years with no problems. Had the 279rlss for the last two years. Been from Maine to NC with no issues. Just traded it on the Apex 289tbss. Liked the full super slide in the living area and the jackknife couch in the bunk room along with three bunks. The Apex 300 has two slides but the living area slide only goes out about 18 inches and the bunk room has a futon instead of a couch. It's like ice cream. Everyone likes there own flavor. When it's your money you buy what you like. No wrong choices.Re: Bunks vs Bunk HouseGood advice here. I had also looked at the Coachmen Apex 300 but the living room slide only went out around 18 inches and only a futon in the bunk room. Ended up with the Apex 289 tbss. Has three bunks and a jackknife couch in the bunk room and a full super slide in the living area. My F-150 is rated to tow 9400 though. So far no problems. Hope you find something you like and can safely tow.Re: Just bought our first new trailer!God Bless and enjoy your new baby and your camper !Re: Looking for a 4000 lb (or less) TT Camsmom wrote: That Viking 16FB is the layout I was referring to. I think if we had that two extra feet with the little dinette, we probably would still have it. The 14 was just a little small, with no real area to sit with the dinette made up as permanent bed. It had the window ac unit in the wall as well which worked perfect. And cheap to replace if needed too. We had a Clipper 17 FQ and loved it... Queen bed and nice size bath....Re: trailor sway update Bumpers53 wrote: Just thought I would let the people who responded to my questions about trailer sway it turned out to be the truck being to lite I did switch to a husky W.D. but we down sized and went to a 24 ft. and it pulls fine .This will be my last F150 they are to lite I have owned Fords since 1971 one chevy but like many things they just don't build them like they used to. I also tow a 30 footer with no issues..... Don't know?Re: Rear hitch for bike rack hanks396 wrote: We're new to RV'ing and just bought our first TT, a Keystone Hideout 272LHS. After reading several posts about how you should never use a bumper hitch for bike racks, I looked into buying a frame mounted hitch. The only one I've found so far that is designed for this purpose is the Curt C13701. The problem is it is only good for frames up to 51" wide and mine measures 68.25". Does anyone know of a hitch that will work on a wider frame like mine? I'm hoping to get a bolt on so I don't have to pay for welding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! E trailer sells a two bike rack that comes with a bolt on 2" receiver mount. It bolts right on to the rear bumper. We have traveled from NC to Maine with this rear bumper mount with no issues but, I did weld a piece of steel from the rear most bottom of the bumper to the bottom of the I beam trailer frame.
