I loved this mod and ordered this seat base. http://shop4seats.com/rv-furniture/rv-bases/class-c-rv-bases/96-06-ford-swivel-base-oem-seat.html Aside from drilling a hole in the flat steel of the base to feed the airbag wire through, what was the solution you all did? Disconnect the plastic wire connector, move the seat.. then reconnect when you put the seat back and get ready to drive? ThanksRe: Amateur Radio LicenseHamming and RVing go hand in hand. It will open up a whole new world of activities for you. Jay N1RWYRe: Litter box.. were to put it?Great ideas here. ThanksLitter box.. were to put it?Ok all, For those of you who travel with cats in your class C..where do you put the cat litter box? It seems like the shower or the passenger foot well are the only two spots that are not "in the way". :?Re: Ethernet (RJ45) Jack on 5th wheel sidewall wa8yxm wrote: Looks like a good system.. I use a 30 amp electrical hatch myself. This is why I enjoy this forum. I was thinking of doing the same thing (upgrading the sidewall telephone "flip up lid" connection) to an ethernet cable connection. Reading through all of this made me think about keeping it weatherproof.. etc etc. Then the post here by John, got me thinking... Why not just run the cable OUT of the electrical cubby that is in the back side of the RV? It already has the "pass through" door for the shore power cable when I am using it - so easy access out of the RV and no extra holes to deal with. Win Win!Re: Kitchen faucet water smells like mildew thefishingal wrote: The water from the well smells fine. The bathroom water is fine as well. Just kitchen faucet. That's whats driving me crazy lol I was having the same thing going on, smells with the kitchen sink running cold, and BAD smells with the kitchen sink running hot. Bathroom and shower smelled fine (or like bleach). I wanted a new faucet anyway, so I replaced it. The original was metal with copper pipe. The new was all plastic. After the replacement, the smell went away! So, I guess it was some bacteria growth reaction with the copper or the other metals in the faucet that was causing the smell. Totally worth the $45 change.Re: Install WIFI antenna on Batwing Mod rwbradley wrote: I decided to mount a WIFI antenna for those few times when WIFI actually works for me. What I had: - WIFI Antenna with N connector - RG58 cable - old Linksys WRT54G router running DDWRT configured as a Universal Wireless Repeater to repeat WIFI from campground to Router and than my devices connect to it using my SSID Greetings, Care to share more of the setup of the router? I am looking to do the same thing as a poor mans radio labs setup.. However, setting up the DD-WRT as the wireless repeater has me a bit confused to the process that I would be using out in the field when I am looking to connect to other networks.Re: traveling to Maine temccarthy1 wrote: CloudDriver wrote: My suggestion - Chestertown is on the east side of Chesapeake Bay. Head north on local roads to I95 to the NJ Turnpike. Near Woodbridge NJ, take I287 to the NY Thruway north to I84 to the Mass Turnpike, then I495 around Boston to join I95 into New Hampshire and Maine. Zero low bridges or tunnels on this route. I second this route! I'm from Maine living in NJ for 25 years( where the jobs are) and take this route several times each summer! It is the way to go! X3 ! This is the route to take. When you get to Maine, you are going to find 4 different areas. Southern Maine (South of Auburn / Lewiston) is very busy. Campgrounds will be busy in August. A lot of summer traffic on 95 so be warned. 3-4 mile bumper to bumper backups heading south is common towards the southern part of the state. Western Maine, look for Jay / Rangeley / Caratunk less populated. Mountain and stream areas. Plenty of dirt roads, campgrounds here are not as busy. Less to "do" more to "see" here. Mountains, hikes, views.. and always make a point to feed the thru hikers. They have been through a lot to get to this point and a beer or a sandwich might has well be a gift from heaven. (Trust me on this one). Lots of flying bugs up in the mountains, but the views make up for it. Down East. Ellsworth is VERY busy. Acadia is VERY busy. Expect lines and traffic. To the north and south, up and down the coast from Ellsworth, towns are traditional coastal towns. Great food, plenty to see and enjoy. Northern Maine. Lincoln and north.. but really Houlton north. Great community, less population. Plenty of space for camping as well as RV parks. Cooler weather, friendly folks. Awesome vegetable stands, and of course the planetary solar system model that is right next to the road makes for great conversation. Have fun, eat lobster, have a Maine microbrew or two and just relax. Just don't forget the bug spray. LED $4.98 with free shipping 1x BA15S 1156 1141 Dome bulb 36-1210 SMD LED,Warm White Look good, a little cooler than the bulbs, but the power savings is huge. My wife loves to have 4-6 bulbs on at a time, multiplied by 1.5 amps each, that is 6 to 9 amps an hour! Now I am drawing about .2 amps each, win win! More power for the ham gear and laptops and all the iProducts, and she can have all the lights she wants on.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Ordered wide braid straps to ground tHe ladder to the frame, picked up wiring for two dedicated inverter outlets for tvs/DVD players and charging laptops.
