You must have it. It’s a Mile by Mile historical, & current record of the road & places on every road you can travel. You won’t be sorry.Battery tender & storageI have to store my rv in AZ for 4 months. I won’t be able to check on it, cause I live in AK. I’m wondering about leaving a Battery Tender attached for that long. I have covered storage. I have a battery cutoff in a new Arctic Fox tt. After checking water level- Should I … leave cables/wires attached to battery as they are; turn the cutoff switch ( disconnecting it from the rV) and then attach the Battery Tender? Everything I read say check water level monthly, but I can’t do that. Advise pls. Thnx in advance.Battery tender & storageThis topic has been moved to another forum. Love my 2016 6.4.Re: Travelling from Nevada to Alaska in the Middle of WinterIn 2019 BC did req chains. (After Oct as I recall) Not on the vehicle but in possession. It wasn’t over advertised but It was true. Better check real good. I’ve never used mine, but have for winter Alcan travel.Re: Travelling from Nevada to Alaska in the Middle of WinterBetter be sure the Canadians will let you thru the border. I have personally talked to 2 families that made it thru and two who were turned away. No reason no recourse. This is a bad time to bet on a friendly border agent.Re: Tire ChainsNo, you won’t need chains. Done it the last 6 yrs in April coming home to AK. If it does snow it’ll be gone fast. It’s a major rd now a days. Driven it ( both ways) in mid winter too and carried chains but never had to use em. Do not start trip w/ old tires however. Take your time, enjoy the trip, IF the borders open up finally.Re: Border closure extendedOpps. CBSA is correct. My mistake. Thanks for the current report from MORSNOW. You said you need a reason that's" not vacation". What did you tell them? What was your reason ? Are you a resident of ID and said you were going home ? Snowbirds up here like me only have one reason (if we're honest).Re: Changes to Snowbird lifestyle and Snowbird communitiessFrom AK to the Lower 48 there have been different experiences. In the last 10 days 2 different families left Palmer for AZ. One got thru', the other was turned back. Ram truck pulling TT got thru', MH pulling toad was turned back. Who knows why ? A Sept article in the Anchorage newspaper on the Border closure Extension said CBC says they're allowing 5 crossings per day in the "Western States". Does that mean crossings going South from AK, or crossings heading to AK from the Lower 48. Who knows ? If you call and finally get a real person the CBC will tell you "it all depends". I think they are allowing the Border Agents to decide "as the situation dictates" from day to day. Good luck. We're staying in AK this winter for the 1st time since 2006.
