Dometic 8500 manual awaning
Has anyone experience with a dometic 8500 manual awning? If so, can one person actually operate? Okay, handy helpers.1991, F250XLT long bed, 7.3 diesel with Lance 1010. Some modifications,air shocks. Weigh in weight police-)Could it be too much weight, 2542 dry? Too old? 1991? Cape Cod, I didnt even think about trailer brakes on the trailer but I am going to check if there are some. And I thought it would be simple. Yes it is a long bed.(Grit) Only RWD which may be a problem in my neck of the woods. Thanks for all the information. BTW I went to burning man and was astonished at how much I enjoyed the experience. Not all S,D, and rock and roll.I had a 5th wheel then and went with friends. Probabaly TMI. Anyway I love the truck, my sis has a 7.3 D with over 300 ranch miles! The TC is what I am not too sure about.With all the positivity expressed here I am going to look at the combo. If I don't like the confines of the camper, would it be hard to drive to a dealer and trade up-down or sideways for a small 5th wheel? Okay Alberta, I understand about the weight patrol police-) I want somewhere separate, outside,to do yoga and to sit and read, do puzzles,maybe even cook. I am having trouble with figuring out how to carry that stuff in the camper. I have a small car trailer that I thought I could cover with carpet/astro turf(?), build a small outside kitchen area and have a portable canopy. In my mind it would all fold away and not be noisy in the tow. I will read the article in truck magazine. I have hauled lots of gooseneck/5th wheel but do not like hauling trailers as much. Thanks for the info. When you towed your boat did you experience much sway? did you use any connection beside the hitch?sway bar? Thank you so much. I tried all the formulas and was just more confused. I appreciate the "not so lite". So, It sounds like the camper would work but would have to be very careful with stuff, especially liquids. That is why I wonder about towing a small trailer? Is hitch weight the only consideration?
