All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsChanging a tire yourselfWe have owned a Former Rental Majestic 28A for 5 years now and have loved every minute of it! We have also learned so much in that time. One of those things is that tire issues will happen. We have had Good Sam and AAA RV Road Side assistance and have learned that it may take hours for someone to come out to help. Recently while traveling through West Virginia we had a tire issue and called AAA... After several calls and promises they never showed up, we finally called a local truck tire place. With that said...after the latest let down from roadside assistance, we bought a 12 ton bottle jack and a cordless Ryobi Impact Drill. We did a test at home yesterday and changed a rear outer ourselves with no problem. Having these two simple items could have saved us HOURS of waiting. Are we just slow learners...have other people done something similar? Wondering how many others have changed their own tire after issue.Re: When to buy?Would have to agree...I believe many people ran out and bought RVs during the height of the pandemic and had no clue what it really takes to maintain a RV. I expect to see many on the market over the next 2-5 years.Re: Adding Solar to a Magestic 28AI started with 200W based on my current power usage... I have plenty of roof space and can always add more. Just felt this was a good starting point and now that all the hard work is done, if I need to add a few more panels, it will be fairly easy.Re: Adding Solar to a Magestic 28AThanks for the advice! I did the install over the weekend :) Installed 2 100W HQST Solar panels on the roof... found the ribs and some Dicor and I feel they are very secure! I routed the cable down the refrigerator vent and was able to put the cable in a flexible conduit to run it under the rv to the battery bank. I have the HQST 30A controller hooked up to two AGM house batteries. Now lets see how it works :) We do a lot of boondocking, so hopeful that this will keep the house batteries topped off. My electrical system now consists of a transfer switch, that switches between shore/generator power and a 1500W Windy Nation inverter. With 2 AGM 125Ah batteries.Adding Solar to a Magestic 28AAll set to add 400W of solar to my 28A. My family likes to do a lot of boondocking and adding solar plus an extra battery will really help. Has anyone done this? Any advise on routing wires from the roof to the dinette would be appreciated :)Re: Slow Cooker UnderwayLike some others said.... do it all the time with no issues.... aside from making the RV smell great and making me hungry lolRe: majestic 28aThanks Craz z!! I was thinking of putting the 2nd AGM battery under the Dinette where the converter is located...I just wasn't sure about AGM batteries inside. Did yo put it in a battery box?majestic 28aHas anyone added a 2nd house battery to a Majestic 28A? Have some ideas about how to do it but would love some more ideas.Re: where to buy parts older dometic frigTry this http://www.thedometicguy.com/Adding exterior showerI have a Majestic 28A Class C. I would like to add an exterior shower to the unit. I have a good idea about how to do it, but I am worried about cutting a hole in the side of the RV. I have the wall plans from Thor, so I know where to cut... but I am worried about doing it. lol Has anyone ever cut a hole in the side of their Class C? Any advice would be appreciated.
