Some of you replying to my question apparently did not read all of my post, and missed the part where I said my question was asked out of "idle curiousity" and nothing else. This question is for those who have traveled to Yellowstone National Park. We recently returned from a trip by car to Yellowstone. We were fortunate to find a cabin in the park to stay. We noticed the campgrounds were full. There are hundreds of wide level turnouts throughout the park. Those who have been there know what I'm talking about. I know it is prohibited to park there overnight. At the same time the park is huge and there are so many turn-offs. More crazy Oklahoma weather is ahead for us in April. Weather forecast is for three nights in a row with below freezing temps. Daytime temps. will be in mid-40s. Tonight and tomorrow night's low predicted for 30 degrees and the third night will be 28. After that it warms up a lot. My question is this: will it help prevent damage by running heater in motorhome. Our motorhome has been de-winterized and we recently returned from a short camping trip. Do any of you use a pressure washer to clean your RV? Is it harsh on the finish and decals? Seems like it would be useful to wash an RV, especially when you don't want to climb a tall ladder. We have a perpetual problem of black water tank indicator showing it's full even after emptying tanks. From what I've read, I think sensors may not be working properly for a variety of reasons. Just purchased a small container of Starbrite toilet treatment to help with odors and keep drain valves from sticking. Any one ever use this product, and does it have to be put in just before using RV? I thought I would post an update to my question concerning Monarch Pass. We successfully drove it a few days ago--with our toad disconnected. It was slow driving, but we survived! We have the Ready Brute Elite tow bar with built-in braking system. In my opinion, it is a cleverly designed system, but it is not trouble free. Before our last trip, we noticed that the cable loop (is it called thimble?) where the breakaway system connects to car was broken and had worked itself back into car. Also, the plastic bumper pulls out when the ready break cable is activated and pulls the thimble forward. Our toad is a Honda CR-V and I wonder whether it is a good choice for their system, although the owner said they've successfully done several installations on CR-Vs. The upshot is we will have to take our motorhome and toad back to Iola, Kansas to be worked on. I don't know what others do who live in states far away. Perhaps there are installers nearby to correct any problems. The Ready Break system is a good one, but it requires upkeep like other motorhome products and accessories.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsDo you recommend unhitching the dinghy over Monarch Pass?
We will be vacationing in southcentral and southwest Colorado. We drive a Class C and pull a Honda CRV. I've heard Highway 50 and Monarch Pass can be challenging for those not used to mountain driving. Is it recommended to unhook the dinghy and drive them separately over Monarch?
