I had a cheap snap wire outlet that went bad and let the wires pop out stopping the electric from continuing to the other outlets. Tech guy who picked it up at first outlet out of panel.He installed home type outlets problem fixed.Cost $$$. In the am: we are of for first trip out this season to Maryland shore. I have tried that and when TV switched on it kicks the inverter out, I have to switch it off then on and it will only power dig. converter and VCR and will not carry TV and converter,VCR.I have no power to the back side the GFI's that is with multi.meter. but the panel is all hot. Well yesterday I did more testing on ac panel and all breakers have 120v nothing is dead in there so I'am figuring it has to do with inverter so a call will go out to my tech.guy. This is probably simple but out of range for me. I belive all the outlets that are dead all are tied into inverter( TV and VCR, and two GFIs one in front lower compartment the other in bath). The wirring diag. from Newmar does not show two GFI and does not match what I'am looking at they show more 120 outlets and switches.The inverter is in lower compartment and input was plugged into that GFI which is dead.The inverter company is telling me the inverter should be set up in it's own panel with breakers but I have owned this coach for 5 yrs. and I no of no other panel.There are a few junction Box with multi. wires which all seem to be hot but that is with the buzz tester and I don't want to try and pull all wires out as I'am no expert by far. Cold and bad weather has moved in so I will wait for a warmer day to check further. Thanking all for the facts and a great new year.This problem will be solved in the new year TWO THOUSAND AND THIRTEEN (2013). If you can belive that 2013 what happened to 1970. Newmars wire diag. which does not duplicate my coach is saying there is only one circut that carries the outlets.Since I have non working outlets two of which are GFI's I can't knock the breakers off two detect which outlets are on another breaker. If I had a bad GFI there should be power on the leads behind it when pulled from the wall and tested no power. It just seems some place between the GFI closest to panel and and breaker I have a problem, plus I'am thinking more that controler in inverter that regulates the voltage is not working right so it is putting out the 144 volts.Just a guess on my part.447Views0likes0CommentsRe: WHERE HAS ALL MY POWER GONE
OK so I went out this AM: to check WHERE HAS ALL MY POWER GONE well it is still gone on GFI,s But have power in inverter outlets to much M meter is showing 144.1 volts out of floor outlet.To upper cabinet outlets had power to run Dig. Converter and VCR but as soon as I hit TV button it kicks out the inverter, turn on and power to inverter and it is back on, but only one outlet in cabinet not the other. I went and put converter back on and took hot cord and plugged in inverter input and inverter turns off I take it that is working right since it is detecting 115 v and turning off to let power come from shore line but still no power to GFI,s and other dead outlets. First thing that not understanding is where the 144 v is coming from second thing why plug in cabinet lost power these two outlets are two inches a part and third I guess TV killing everything because power is to hot 144v. I have a fourth still no pass thru power when inverter is off. Think finding some power has made more question, like they say its another day. A TECH. I belive that is and updated model to the older Heart 400 inverter.My does not have as may options. But I will see in the morning,I hope all is well when the sun rises. I had power but not enough to run TV but enough to power TV converter. I had none before pulling that lug on the battery up tight. You can belive me I was checking everything but the battery, hoping this inverter does not pass thru without full 12v charge or a lose lug keeps it from doing it's job. I have checked and rechecked breakers on Gen. panel box and breakers GFI,s but what I didn't check was the house batteries until this am:.The inverter seems to power TV and floor outlet plus bath GFI and front storage compartment GFI which it is plug into but hard wired to coach. Just went out to check a little more still not finding any power but though just a chance to check house battery leads and water, one lead lose enough for the contact to move so I tightend. Went to inverter and seem to get a beep or two on tester so I went inside and TV tried to start but went off check inverter and it popped the 4 amp. fuse rest set and checked digital converter for tv and now has power. I hope batteries being low may have caused the trouble. I will let charge over nite and keep my fingers X. What I don't understand is there is a battery low red light on inverter and that didn't light and I guess I also don't understand exactly how inverters transfer power.214Views0likes0CommentsRe: WHERE HAS ALL MY POWER GONE
Inverter runs TV and Vid outlet and outlet at passanger floor.I was running the Genny during Sandy for reefer and basic lighting, would pull plug on reefer to run well pump 110 volt., TV on with reefer and lighting only. It is cold out this morning so I will wait to pull outlets to check piercing plugs.132Views0likes0Comments
