And after testing the hose, head straight to the 24 hr emergency center to start a regiment of antibiotics and Imodium.Re: best model of Keystone 5th wheel? C-Bears wrote: nitrohorse, that was probably a good move with the extended warranty purchase. We did the same thing last year for the same reasons. What I didn't expect was how horrible Keystone RV was at honoring their factory warranty! That one year factory warranty has come and gone with repair denials so now we will have to depend on our extended. I agree. My wife actually talked me into it. Do you believe it was Keystone who fought the warranty claims or the dealership? I was told that the dealership plays a large part in what is approved or not?Re: best model of Keystone 5th wheel? My wife and I just bought a 2015 Keystone Sprinter Copper Canyon 333FWFLS after months of research. The first criteria we used was price. We were not interested in an $80000 fifth wheel, so we narrowed our selections to what we could comfortably afford. Secondly, I researched building materials and process. I wanted aluminum framing and foam insulation. The appliances and HVAC are mostly standard across the board in my opinion, so those were of less concern. The interior construction materials for our price point were pretty much the same across the spectrum of manufacturers. So far, we are happy with our purchase. After reading all the horror stories about new RV purchases, I did something I never did before and purchased the extended warranty.Time will tell if it was worth it or not. This is just my humble experience and opinion. Hope it helps....Re: Tricks To Great Mashed Potatos? fchammer1 wrote: nitrohorse wrote: I'm going to let you all in on a little secret that I learned about mashed potatoes while eating with an Amish family in Pa.. Nitro, That wouldn't have been at the home of Jonas & Lydia would it? (Last name omitted purposely.) And, in the next valley to the south, Jonas's brother Amos does a mean barbeque of chicken one Saturday and pork the next -- right next to his wife's bakery. No it's Dave and Rebecca. She has a "steam" powered mixer that she uses for her taters. Her meatloaf is the best.... For anyone who has the chance to eat at an Amish home....do so, you will not regret it. Sorry if I went a little off topic.Re: Thought I was doing good in freezing temp - Oops! Not quiteI hate to differ with the free advice on here, but I got completely different advice regarding the use of my fridge during the cold winter months. My dealer's Service Manager told me to use it as I would in the summer. He suggested that I turn the setting down a bit as the ambient temps are lower, but other than that, he said have at it. I told him that I heard internet horror stories about damaging the coils and he laughed. He asked me what I thought happened to the fridges sitting idle in the RVs on the dealer's lot during winter? He asked me if the fluid in the coils froze in them as well as the one that was in use? I left the dealership with my a/c cover in hand and on the ride home, condemplated his theory. Realistically, it makes sense. Why wouldn't the fluid freeze in a static scenario vs. in use? Anyhow, I have my TT parked on a seasonal site up in the mountains of Pa. Most of the folks how camp all year long use their fridge. No one has had any issues doing so. Is this freezing in the tubes theory an old campground tale or is it factual?Re: Tricks To Great Mashed Potatos?I'm going to let you all in on a little secret that I learned about mashed potatoes while eating with an Amish family in Pa.. You have to slightly brown the butter before adding it to the potatoes. Do not brown the butter too hard or it can make the potatoes taste salty. Those mashed were the best I've ever had, and with my Russian (Ukrainian) heritage, that's saying something. Just my humble opinion. Happy Thanksgiving to all....God Bless.Re: Blue Tote? the_happiestcamper wrote: nitrohorse wrote: wmoses wrote: Nitro horse, that was indeed funny .... :D You can always tell if you used enough bleach by the way the coffee tastes the next morning. It saves me from having to drag the TT to the dump station. Once I dump the tote, I clean it out real good with bleach and water, and haul potable water back to the TT. It kills two birds with one stone. Trick is to make sure the tote is very clean inside.Re: HELP !!!duplicate post
