We're still pondering either the Rpod 180 or the Coachmen 192RBS. Leaning toward the 192RBS but just can't swallow the "no way Jose no dickering price" by the local Coachmen dealer. Every vehicle I've purchased or sold had some wiggle room. $ 17,924.00 2017 Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS $ 800.00 hitch $ 99.00 Admin Fee $ 88.00 License/30day tag, Transfer, Title Fee $ 399.00 Fueling & PDI ----------- $ 19,974.69 Then I'll need to purchase Sewer Hose, Electrical Cord, Water Hoses, Filter, Surge Protector, RV toilet paper, wheel chocks, .... Tried the Costco mention to purchase -- but that really does not seem to work. Perhaps the above is a *deal"? When you compare price of the 192RBS with the Rpod-180, a $2,500 difference, the 192RBS looks good to me. Yesterday we looked at a 2013 Coachmen 192RBS that was supposed to be like new at $12,500. Condition looked "fair" at best to me. Missing stuff like spare tire, table, clock, jack tool, had 2012 DOT tires, seams seemed to be open in a few places, metal around an exterior storage doors bent so bad the door would not fully close, incandescent lighting, no TV, etc. I don't know if it would be a good deal after addressing all that and then maybe some unknowns. Noted on the Rpod owners forum a person sold his Rpod-177 and purchased a Lance 2295 - big difference.Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...That URL seems to focused on car buying. Reads like one must find a dealership that participates in the Costco buying plan - none when I put in my zipcode. Did you do it by entering a zipcode for another state? EDIT: Tried Zipcodes for Ohio and California.Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ... #1nobby wrote: ... Thanks Nobby ... and you know that I can't fix I F-up pretty badly too :-)Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ... Then you can say you were smart and bought used! :B You definitely got my attention about Costco. Tried to find out how to purchase online but all I found were some travel trailer accessories. Did you deal with Costco by calling them direct or is there a special website they have set up? Thanks -- CarlRe: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...Thanks again for the great advice. I would like to purchase preowned but the Colemen 192RBS is hard to find used. Still looking - got a few months before camping season starts. Regarding the Bike Rack, good point. I think I'll even hold off on a Bike Rack to make sure its important. Looking for some cheap bikes or used ones. Will have to find some extension mirrors that attach - any recommendations here? Also, whats the thinking about installing a Rear Camera? I think the wifey and I and get along pretty good in the Trailer. We have a TV in the bedroom and it usually plays all night anyway. Our dog, poodle/shitzu, sleeps with us so her space is our space. Good advice about the 7' vs 8' tow-ability. Really do like the roominess of the 192RBS. BTW, to really "personalize" our Trailer, I'm thinking about taking along one of my old vacuum tube radio consoles to sit it outside just as a conversation piece. I've restored a number of old radios some are not all that valuable anyway. Maybe do it once in a while :-)Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...Had not thought about Costco. Thanks. That $17.9K price did not include the built in Grill, nor did it include a Ladder on the rear. I'm thinking I would like to have those options. Also a Bike Rack. Dealer wanted $800 for a Weight Distribution/Sway Control hitch - that price includes installation. BTW, yesterday afternoon I visited both dealers. First the one with the Winnebago 2106DS and then the one with the Colemen 192RBS. My head hit the Ceiling in the shower in the Winnebago, but not in the Coachmen. I think I like the Coachmen better. The main pro for the Winnebago was its width - 7' vs Coachmen's 8'. What I liked about the Coachmen was the interior height, length of the queen bed, cabinets, and that it has Azdel walls. I think my preference is the Coachmen. Still have a little nagging worry if its too much trailer for my SUV but the analysis we did in this forum and the sales guy saying it should tow well with proper hitch makes me feel better.Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...Is $17.9K a fair price for a new Coachmen 192RBS?Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...Thanks everyone. Now that Christmas is over, continuing my search. #1 is the Coachmen 192RBS, but I just looked at a video of the Winnebago Mico Minnie 2106DS. I know after reviewing this thread that it was mentioned but I didn't look into it. This Winnebago does have some pros - namely that it is 7' wide making it easier to deal with towing. Approximately the same weight as the Coachmen. I'll have to give it a look see. Still in love with the Coachmen's height (I'm 6'2") and the Azdel construction. Anyone know how the price compares? Quality? --CarlRe: Where can you rent a Travel Trailer? rbpru wrote: ... We discover our truck had the weight capacity but the 200 hp motor was too small for the TT we wanted. Good luck Out of curiosity what vehicle did you find too small? I have a Lexus LX470 - same as a Toyota Land Cruiser. It has a 230hp V8 Engine at 320 lbs-ft of torque. 4.3:1 axle.Where can you rent a Travel Trailer?I see posts recommending that first timers like myself to rent a Travel Trailer to see if I like it or not. I have never seen any place around here that rents them. Asked a couple dealers but they said they don't. -- Carl
