I can tell you for fact the fiberglass in floor was no where near R-18 as it was water soaked. The polyurethane spray foam I replaced it with is a much better insulation and will not absorb water, with the added benefit that rodents don't like it.Re: What kind of insulation is "Maximum Fill"?It does have the thermal package. After we got the trailer home from Idaho we had all kinds of electrical problems. We discovered that squirrels got into the bottom level and chewed all the wires. Brake wires and tank sensor level wires....pretty much everything. I removed the corrugated plastic and all the fiberglass insulation from underneath. I had to drop all the holding tanks to replace & repair all the sensors in the tanks and replace all the 12V wires. This meant cutting all the drains and vents too. For some reason the squirrels didn't touch any of the 120V wiring. When I got it all back together I hired a guy to spray foam the entire underside with closed cell polyurethane foam insulation. I put in the Horst Miracle Probe sensors into the tanks and I have to say they work much better than the button style original ones. The electrical all works 100% now as do the tank level sensors. The floor is so much warmer with the spray foam instead of the water soaked fiberglass that was in there from the factory. It's also much quieter inside the trailer with the spray foam. There are no cavities for squirrels or mice to get into now, as it's all sealed with spray foam.Re: Tires--Load Range Increase bigbaddad wrote: I went from a load range G to H for comfort of mind and I also changed brand saving money. The inflation tables will show you all you need to know except one factor important to me...the risk in some cases of lowering pressure to get a softer ride. If your current G tire should run at 90 pounds the tables may well show the H could run at 80 pounds but I really would not do that because that is cutting it close to factors keeping the tire safely on the rim. If higher pressures were the case, say going down from 110 to 100, I wouldn't be concerned. In any case keeping the same pressures should not change the ride in a big way but the peace of mind is for you to value as you will. I should have been more specific, you should always maintain the the recommended pressure of the lower load rated tire, but you don't need to run the higher load rated tire at it's maximum psi.Re: Tires--Load Range IncreaseWe went up a load range on our coach when we had it I felt the coach handled much better. I went up in tire pressure about 10 psi, but not to the max. for the new tire and the ride may have been slightly more firm, but it was worth the trade off as it handled better...seemed to track better with less sway. The tires were also cheaper because they are used on delivery trucks and I guess they make more of them. We went from a 245/70R19.5 F to a Bridgestone R 250, 245/70R19.5 G and they were $60.00 a tire less for the G than the F. You don't need to run them at higher pressure if you don't want to, but you must not exceed the psi rating of the rim. We had steel rims with SS simulators, so pressure was not an issue. It can be with aluminum.Re: What kind of insulation is "Maximum Fill"? downtheroad wrote: Our Komfort about the same year....(see sig. Pic below) has some kind of foam board/blocks sandwiched in the walls, ceiling and floor. Looks to be about 2 inches thick throughout. Keep in mind that all trailer manufacturers tack fancy names onto what is essentially nothing all that special or different. They are trying to sell, and "Maximum Fill Insulation," sounds better than, "Normal Fill Insulation." Is it possible it's spray foam? It's not batt insulation though? Can you pm me a picture of your trailer?Re: What kind of insulation is "Maximum Fill"?The present owner states that the floor insulation is a sprayed in foam, but he doesn't know about the walls. Is it possible that it is spray foam? What kind of quality are the 09 Komfort Trailers and what kind of reputation do they have...i see a lot of them out west, but I had never seen one in Manitoba before, so I am unfamiliar with them. What kind of insulation is "Maximum Fill"?I need help from the experts, I am looking at a 2009 KOMFORT 256TS, tow trailer. I was able to download a digital brochure and get most of the information I wanted, however the only description they have for all the the insulation is "Maximum Fill Insulation". Does anyone know what they use for insulation? Thanks in advance!
