Would rather just not have to crank one up and worry about it at all.I drove off with the antenna up...Now I have a broken antenna. Are there alternatives to the crank up antennas? I'd rather have one stuck to a window or something else that can't be damaged. Thanks!Re: Correct way to start Onan 4K generatorMy Onan 4k MicroQuiet Generator starts right up from the remote switch now. Usually takes about 5 seconds. We use the RV at least twice a week, so the generator is used frequently, if that makes a difference. Might want to check the house batteries. Are they old? My generator took quite a long time to start for the first couple weeks after we bought the RV (used), then it just stopped cranking all together. Turns out the house batteries were going bad. New house batteries now, and no issues.Re: Jump Start Onan 4000 microquiet Generator?Thought I would give ya'll an update. Took it in for service Tuesday and they said something about the starter flywheel being stuck and how that probably happened when it was trying to start with low power before I changed the batteries. Anyway, it works great now.Re: Jump Start Onan 4000 microquiet Generator? Thanks All! I had my house batteries checked and they are dead. Replaced them both. Crossed my fingers....and generator still not starting, same error code. Oh well, batteries needed replacing anyway. I am at work right now. Will try the other suggestions tomorrow morning, if I wake up early enough before work anyway :D I am also going to clean all the connection points and then tighten everything up.Jump Start Onan 4000 microquiet Generator?Greetings! I am having problems getting my generator started. It is flashing a 32 code, low cranking power. I believe I may need new house batteries. In the meantime, I need to run my air conditioning! Can I jump start it with a jumper box? Where should I hook it up, at the house batteries under my steps or directly to the generator? How? Any and all help appreciated. thanks!Headlight's On Alarm? Automatic Headlights?Greetings! 2004 Coachmen Leprechaun 314SS Is there a way to rig the main door to set off a buzzer when opened if the Headlights are still on with the engine turned off? Similar to how the buzzer goes off when you open the driver door. Or better yet, make it so the headlights automatically go off? Thanks!Walk on Leprechaun Roof?Greetings! I have a 2004 Coachmen Leprechaun 314SS. I want to measure the height, so I need to get to the roof A/C unit to see how how it is sticking up above the roof. Can I walk on the roof to get to the A/C? Thanks!Re: Just bought our 1st MotorhomeThanks all!Just bought our 1st MotorhomeGreetings! Purchased a 2004 Coachmen Leprechaun 314SS (Ford E-450, 43k miles) 2 days ago. Our first motorhome or RV. Pic in sigline and profile. I'd like to thank the forum members for all the great info I have already read on here, as well as all the great info I am sure will be seen in the future. I plan on being around for awhile, so here is an intro: My wife and I live in the Greater Tampa Bay Area in Florida. We have a 10 year old daughter (who will be in it infrequently, shared custody with her bio-dad) and 2 dogs that will travel with us most of the time, a senior Australian Cattle dog and a middle aged minny mutt. We also have a cat, but he wont be RV'ing with us. He is much too high class for that :D Our property is 2/3rds of an acre with no HOA, so we are fortunate enough to be able to store our MH at the house. Had to do some tree trimming though before I could park the new MH! Also have to get the power lines raised up in order to use the full circle driveway. For now, I do a 6 point turn to get it turned around :D We will probably be using the MH differently than most on this forum. My wife is a professional musician and we will be using the RV a few different ways. At least twice a week she will drive the RV about 60 minutes away from home and stay overnight due to her work as a musician. Sometimes, she may end up staying there for a few days in a row. Also, about 4 times a year she will take it out on tour to various parts of the country for a week or two for her Solo recitals and master classes that she offers. And last, but not least, we will use it for fun every now and then :) We will be doing a lot of dry-docking. Spent a few months trying to find the right RV. Finally got it two days ago. She had to feel comfortable driving it on a regular basis, hence the Class C instead of Class A. We needed a walk around queen bed, hence the ~31' size Class C instead of something smaller. We really wanted the overhead bunk bed for our 10 year old daughter, which ruled out some of the Class C's that had that entire space used up for entertainment systems. We needed used, since the price had to make sense financially. Had to have enough storage for the musical equipment. Compromised a bit on storage, due to budget and not wanting the MH to be super long, some stuff will need to be transported inside. Since we will be off grid fairly often, we wanted a quiet generator that wasn't right next to the bed, and this one had the whisper quiet Onan near the middle of the vehicle. Needed ducted A/C so that we could have the master bedroom door closed when we had guests. So, now the adventure begins! She'll be driving it to work on Tuesday, hopefully it all works out as planned. Now, a few questions: How much propane does the average fridge use in a 24 hour period? Any idea how much gas my 4kw Onan whisperquiet will use in an 8 hour period if all that it is powering is the A/C? Do you think I can do the regular maintenance on the generator myself? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm fairly mechanically minded. Any reason I couldn't dump the gray water tank on my grass if I needed to? I know all about the black water dumping, I'll do that at the proper locations. But I have a feeling the grey water tank is going to get filled up more quickly than the norm, due to how we will be using it. Thanks!
