It has a pin that is held by the bracket attached to the trailer. We were about to join a friend tomorrow on his first time out with his trailer, but not sure about travelling 15 miles with the bottom of that leg bungee corded to the frame. Question... does it need to support the awning while closed? Thanks.Re: Please Help Did I buy too Big of a toy hauler?I'll give you another example. See the truck and trailer in my sig photo? That was our first combo... a 2003 Nissan frontier CC LB 4x4 supercharged with a 5000lb tow rating towing a 2004 Traillite 8211, dry 3330 lbs and 540lb tongue weight. I had no trouble at all with that combo either. Didn't have sway problems, wasn't overloaded (close on payload), didn't have to drive slow, didn't overheat, etc. We did about 40 trips with the 2 til I bought an 07 Frontier, then did 50 more! I'm in CA and go way into the Sierras. You're really not asking too much of a Taco... upgrade in a year if you really want more. Better yet, get a little bigger TH and a new truck in a year if you think you might be compromising on TH size to fit your Tacoma.Re: Please Help Did I buy too Big of a toy hauler?you will be using a WD hitch, so you will be okay. I had a TT with a 740lb hitch weight behind a Nissan Frontier CC LB 4x4 and it leveled out fine and rode fine... Trailer was 5200lbs loaded... Tow rating 6100 lbs...payload 1160lbs. That's a REALLY light Toy Hauler. The WD hitch puts some of the tongue weight on the trucks front axle and some back on the trailer's axles.Re: Looking for this TT (sketch)...http://rvision.imagegroupinc.com/images/trail-sport/floorplans/18RBH-LG.pngRe: Looking for this TT (sketch)...Trail=Lite 8212 by R-vision Trailer in sig photo is an 8211...no bunk over the rear bedRe: Can I tow this TT?you don't need LT tires and airbags, etc. You'll get to max payload before max trailer weight. Watch your loaded weight, adjust the WD bars properly, use the sway control and air your tires up from the sticker psi... not necessarily max. Add bilstien HD shocks to the rear if yours don't cut it or do all 4 if its time. Don't tow in OD if the manual says not to. Maybe you'll need more cooling, b ut you can give it a try first.Re: Illegal / dangerous to pull 11,000 trailer rated 10,000 lbs?BTW, my TH is at 7000 lbs loaded, 800lb TW, 1850lb payload, 9300lb tow capacity. Truck is level towing and WD hitch is set up correctly by me.Re: Illegal / dangerous to pull 11,000 trailer rated 10,000 lbs? Enough for me. No good reason to tow overloaded. Ironic/Interesting post by someone who presumable tows with a Titan. No irony here. I DO tow with a Titan. I am under all weight limits (payload IS 1850lbs per door sticker). I go way into the Sierra Nevadas a dozen times a year with no issues towing sig trailer with a golf cart in it sometimes. Also, I don't hold up traffic like some of you HD lollygaggers!Re: Illegal / dangerous to pull 11,000 trailer rated 10,000 lbs?http://www.randolphwolf.com/blog/towing-liability-for-overweight-loads/ http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=24262 http://www.personalinjuryclaimsblawg.com/personal-vehicle-towing-liability-for-rvers/ Is that enough info? I tow with my truck and have no issues with it... mostly into Sierra National Park. You should be fine with your choice. A one ton truck would be nice if you were a real poor driver. Mines at about 7000 lbs loaded with everything incl. the off road golf cart. Big deal!
