All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsQuestion for Colorado residentsI'm considering whether to buy or rent a Class C but need to get some idea of the cost of ownership. If I buy one for around $75,000, about how much will it cost to register it here in the Denver metro area? And, how much would it be to insure it, both collision and liability? By the way, if it matters, I'm 74 years old. I don't think I can get an estimate from the DMV or my insurance agent without a VIN. Ballpark figures would be just fine as I have no idea. Thanks, PeteRe: Monitor Panel ProblemThank you DrewE and Dougrainer for your consoling thoughts. PeteRe: Monitor Panel ProblemI am a moron. Yes, I have to confess to all you wonderfully helpful folks that my "problem" was the result of my own stupidity. I had left the dump valve open so the tank was never filling up. Oops. Sorry, PeteRe: Monitor Panel ProblemThank you, all, for your input. PeteMonitor Panel ProblemMy panel displays the status of the battery, fresh, gray and black water tanks. All indicators are shown as from one to five red lights. One light means the tank is empty, two lights means 1/4 full, etc.,. The five lights (or fewer) light up when the gray water button is pressed or the black water button is pressed and so on. All functions are working fine, except for the gray water tank. The first light comes on, indicating an empty tank, but that's true even when the tank is certainly nearly full. In other words, the 1/4 and 1/2 and so on lights never come on. Any ideas about what went wrong and how to fix it would be most welcome. Thanks, PeteShould I keep my old truck?I have a 1994 F250, 7.5 liter gas engine with a manual transmission that I use to tow my 5th wheel. The truck is in excellent shape and looks almost new inside and out. In other words, it gets the job done. But, I'm worried that if I have some mechanical problem on the road in some far-away place, will the Ford dealer there be able to find the parts I might need? Or, is my truck so old that I'd have to search junkyards which would obviously be nearly impossible during an interrupted trip? Thanks, PeteShould I submit an insurance claimI did some minor cosmetic damage to my 5th wheel when I hit a parking lot post. I immediately called my National General agent and opened a claim. They haven't sent an adjuster yet. But now as I look at it I'm thinking I can fix it myself. Now I'm thinking perhaps it would be better to tell them "nevermind" since I really don't want to get dropped right before my next trip. What do you folks think? Oh, I got this policy through Good Sam. Thanks, PeteCost of partial paint jobI have a 1994 F250 in otherwise cherry condition, but the paint on the hood and roof is looking thin. About how much might it cost to get those parts painted? And would such a paint job normally include clear coat? Should I go to a auto paint shop or a body shop for such a small job? Thanks, Pete
