And anyways we are mountain/country folk so we will probably appreciate the lack of commotion in the small town anyways. Google does suggest the 215 so I will most likely do that. We may spend a day at the beach, or hiking in the hills, possibly San Diego zoo, we didn't really expect to be in Legoland the entire time. Maybe 2 days with the water park and the associated aquarium. Anyone have any comments on the route out, highway 79 down to I-8? 79 south out of Temecula is not too bad after you leave temecula, if it was me I'd go on down to Escondido and take 78 it will meet 79 at San Isabel, from Julian to the 8 is fairly pretty drive especially around Lake Cuyamaca, just my personal opinionRe: Banning to Tehachapi?we always go 15 395 58Re: This is what I can imagine some think of 550. Had to laugh.C.W, MCcall did a song about it a few years ago I think it might be on utube it's funnyRe: Grapevine/Tehachapino problems, if I remember there is 4 signals but good road from the 58 to the 15Re: Disneyland route to South of Bullhead City route? If you mean Vist Del Sol the street south of Bullhead. I'd go 57 to 210 to 15 to 40 to Needles at Needles take the Laughlin turn off and go to the Avi casino turnoff then over the bridge to Az 95 north to camp Mojave rd turn right go to Calle Del Media turn left go north about 4 blocks and your there, we have friends in the areaRe: Oklahoma city to Flagstaff Hank85713 wrote: winslow is west of flag . West of Flag??Re: Which GPS is best for Mexico?we use a Garmin 2595 with lifetime maps and traffic and it can be updated about every 6 months, you can update any Garmin with lifetime maps about every 6 months, well worth the extra for the lifetime mapsRe: Best Route from La Quinta, CA to San Diego, CAI 8 has a pretty good grade after leaving Ocotillo plus you can hit some pretty good cross winds in places before you drop out of the Lagunas. If it was me I'd take the 10 to the 79 in Beaumont then down to the 215 to the 15, or 10 to the 60 to the 215 to the 15, either way would be a lot easier then driving the 8Re: So. Calif: I-15 at Cajon Pass and also at Las Vegasthe 91 15 interchange is a mess almost all the time, it's being widened. We went through there yesterday about noon in a car and stayed in thr #1 lane so it wasn't too bad. but the slower lanes are a total mess. If it was me I'd start early Sunday morning like about the crack of dawn, then your worst grade would be the baker grade after it starts heating up, it was 103 here today in Lake ElsinoreRe: Rand McNally or Magellan gpsUsed to be strictly magellan for the handhelds but after the triton fiasco we went with garmin of the nuvi models we started with the 255w upgraded to the 1490LMT which we were very happy with it died last week and we are now running the 2590LMT which seems to be a pretty good unit. Whatever you buy try and get one with lifetime maps and traffic
