The previous owner tore out the antenna in an accident and after a number of years everything rotted. I have to replace the fiber board liner and some areas where the beams rest. The carpenter said he should take a week or two to redo everything. His cost to me on this project is six hundred dollars. The basic materials will be about three hundred dollars. I want this project done by spring so I can sell the rv that I am now living in. I will hate giving up my summer home(old rv) but alass I have difficulty driving two rv's anyway. When completed, I should have a total of about sixty five hundred dollars invested. I live full time in my rv. My rv is an 81 chev with an 82 Honey camper. I'm coverting the sofa into a bed and converting the bunk into a storage area. I'm 72 and a little too old to climb the ladder.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???I had patched a few (3) holes in the roof. It seems that the previous owners. Had used the roof rack for some special tie down, Horses, who knows. The result of misusing those rails caused the front brace on both sides to pull out and over the years you can guess what happened. All the rain seeped into the screw holes and in time rotted the entire frame of the roof. I don't know how extensive the rot is. I don't think it will be too bad. But one never knows. I tried filling the screw holes with wood shavings to give the screws something to hold the bracket down, but no such luck.It looks like the wall and ceiling in the back half of the RV will have to be torn out. I bought a weather alert radio at Wal*Mart and cut the 110 volt converter off and attached a cigarette lighter plug. I didn't want to mess with another inverter when I didn't have to. It didn't make any sense to take 12 volts DC, convert it to 110 volts AC and then invert it back to 12 volts DC, just to use a radio. Anyway the radio works fine. Since I live in my RV full time and live in the Wal*Mart parking lot, where I work, I felt it necessary to keep track of the elements. I have so much to do to this RV, I was going to spend about $8,000 dollars changing some things but have cut nearly $3,000 from that figure. I am going to build a new bed, in place of the sofa. At my age nearly 72, I just don't like coming out of the crow's nest front ways. I'm going to build a desk and redo the kitchen area. Anyway that it for now. I hope ya'll have a nice Thanksgiving. PaulRe: What did you do to your Class C MH today???It isn't what I did to my MH, but rather what I would like to do to it. lol I got towed off a four lane highway at drive time today, again as I did last friday at nearly the very same spot. I seem to have a carb or gas related problem. My MH is a 1982 Model and now a days mechanics don't know how to fix carb's. I got my son in law to drive mee to the next town where I work. I also have another MH(that own is called money pit #2) there as well.I have to go to work at 10 pm and tell Walmart if I want to continue working with them. My days with them are numbered which is what I want. Walmart is not a fun place to work at these days. I have two MH's because I thought I wanted another one that had a built in generator and a few other features: however I am having mechanical trouble with that one as well. But I will sort things out in a few days. I am 71 and have been living in an RV for 3 years. I like it but I just wish that I could get organized. One day I will. thanks for listening. Jon
