All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Video Editing SoftwareI guess the decision has been made by the OP, but I'll chime in anyway, mostly in defense of Resolve. For TL;DR people: I agree that Davinci Resolve is the editor of choice for higher end capabilities. The free version has massive power, and the one time paid version is far below the price of the Adobe Premiere subscription. More to say: On the other hand, I started with Vegas when it was originally built by Sonic Foundry, followed it to Sony and now on to Magix. I love Vegas (consumer and pro) and always recommend it to any seeking a lower cost editor. It seems far more intuitive than any of the others including the free open source offerings. For many years I used HitFilm (free and pro) and found it worked well, but the lack of documentation finally drove me to Resolve. I still think HitFilm (especially the free version) is a viable alternative for basic editors. Just skip all the special effects talk. Similar to Resolve, you don't have to use all the power. They both work just fine for the basics. You don't have to learn all there is to know just to create relatively simple vids. On the very basic front, iMovie and Windows Photo are the built in creators. (Before you all jump on me-NO, Windows Movie Maker is no longer supported/available. It has been depreciated in favor of Windows Photo. See HERE) These both work, but most will outgrow them very quickly if you do more than one or two videos a year. FWIW, SageRe: Garmin Basecamp ProblemsI've been going to chime in on this to suggest you start in Google maps, import that route to Basecamp, and then to your device. It is a bit of round-about, but many find Google easier to use. Now I'd suggest you look at K and I's link. His episode 10 discusses just this method. Admittedly I fast forwarded through it, but he does seem to get the job done, though it is in excruciating detail. He really spends a great deal of time analyzing errors and how to correct them. If you can tolerate the slow pace, I think this recommendation from K and I is an excellent one.Re: jeep wrangler - where attach safety cables??I used to have the attach points provided by the base plate. When I moved to an aftermarket bumper with built in tow bar attachment points, I got two "CURT 22411 Bolt-On Black Steel Tow Hook" from Amazon and bolted them to the frame. I then used short cables like the ones linked above to bring the attachment points out to where I could get to them easily.Re: Couch to reclinersWe have replaced all the furniture in ours over the years. Added a third captain's seat and two Lazyboy recliners, a desk and a small chest of drawers. Easiest was the slide side as you can just run it out to get underneath to get to the bolts. The other side you need to reach/crawl into the basement compartments. Leave all the seat belts in place-you'll need them over time. Be certain you bolt/screw things back down one way or another. We left the recliners loose, and just use the seat belts to hold them down when traveling.Re: Lippert jacks Damon Challenger junction locationI forgot about that sensor. Mine is quite far forward of center, on the roof of a compartment as you said. Will look there for cable terminations. Thanks!Lippert jacks Damon Challenger junction locationHi all, We have a Lippert hydraulic jack system which seems to be unique to the Damon line. It has been intermittent over the years. Right now I am trying to find the junction box or panel that is shown in the wiring diagram. The dash control panel cable and the pump/valve harnesses come together at that panel, but darned if I can find it. It looks like I am going to have to pull my dash to trace the wires, but I didn't know if anyone knew for sure where that junction is located. Thanks.Re: Finally......a good way to carry extra gas (mod)! From a practical, day to day aspect, I think the tank exposed to bright, direct sun is something that makes the rear bumper less desirable. I've always done what I can to keep spare gas in the shade. It's another reason that I have always questioned the "required" red color-certainly not very reflective. This leads to venting. My off-the-shelf cans are sealed in transport. Lots of pressure build up on the way back from the gas station since the gas from the ground tanks always heats up in the can. Of course, once you vent it, the vapors are available to random ignition sources.Re: Finally......a good way to carry extra gas (mod)! AnEv942 wrote: Or jeeps...gas tank was under the seat and you sat on it. Early ones you lifted cushion to fill.. Before my Jeep days, but that's pretty funny....Re: Finally......a good way to carry extra gas (mod)!Speaking of the Pinto and what not: I got a real kick out of the suggestion (sorry-REALLY not pointing fingers-just dating the posters) that the gas be carried between the cab and the bed. I guess none of you kids remember fueling the pickup truck from the fill pipe located just behind the door handle. There was a time when all our Chev trucks had the gas tanks part of the cab. After a while it was decided that it wasn't a good idea for people to be leaning back against the gas tank as they went down the road. And it was a GAS tank-there were no diesel pickups then. As I read the OP, I could see the nay-sayers coming from a mile away. These kind of posts are made in heaven for those guys. And now here I am joining the fray...BAD Sage.:o I did have a couple of useful (??) thoughts come out of this. The first is that one of the first mods Jeep off-roaders make is putting a Jerry can on the back (Google "Jerry can mount"). Yes, they're a bit higher than most cars but not all trucks. I guess you just have to pick the right vehicle to rear end you. My other thought is regarding side by sides. Most of the mods I've seen put the spare gas can(s) on the sides of the cargo space. I would think that a rear end collision for a Teryx/Razer is extremely rare. Roll overs however are somewhat common....think about it.... SageRe: Has any Forum members here tried this?Have stayed in a couple, as others have said-when convenient. One in St. Louis, Mo was on the rail line. Stayed several days, could eat at the Casino and travel easily to the city. Could walk to both the casino and the rail station.
