I saw a guy there checking on it one time but it never leaves. It's been there about 10 years. I don't understand why they keep it. Do they just have so much money that paying storage is not an issue or are they just not up to doing anything with it. Seems to me such a waste. If that's the case pay someone to sell it and save money on storage. It's not like the guy is disabled, probably just lazy.Re: Connecting Winegard G2+Nothing new to report. Still only gets signal when connected directly to the inserter box. That proves that there is something wrong with the prewired connection. The cable tests out fine, no problems there. I guess it will have to be taken in the to the dealer. It is under warranty. But they will probably tell me that the cable tests out fine. Then I will hand them the Satellite dome and tell them to hook it up and show me it works. If you figure it out IBcarguy please post your results.Re: Connecting Winegard G2+We live in Northport. Almost in Canada. Thanks for your help!Re: Connecting Winegard G2+We did hook directly from the dome to the inserter box and got a signal and were able to watch TV. I am assuming that something is amiss with the connection on the RV. And good grief how does one ever find that problem. Its all inside walls.Re: Connecting Winegard G2+Nope no noise. Only way it makes noise and searches is if we plug the cable from the dome directly into the Inserter box. It will find the signal pretty fast and it all works fine.Re: Connecting Winegard G2+Oh dear, you are talking way beyond my knowledge. LOL Everything has been hooked up for months and it has all worked in the past with no problems. Nothing has been unhooked or changed so I know everything is where it's supposed to be. When we want to watch tv with the satellite, IF I remember correctly (and that's a big IF) all we have done is make sure source is set to Satellite, direct tv receiver box and small Winegard inserter box unplugged and the inserter box button for power not pushed in. Connect cable to Sat Input on the RV and other end to the dome. Then plug in the little Winegard inserter box and push button to turn it on. Then it searches for a signal, when it stops making search noise we plug in the Direct TV receiver and then can watch tv. Now it doesn't search, BUT if I connect the cable from the dome directly to the Winegard inserter box it searches, finds a signal and we can watch tv. I suspect something is amiss with the connection on the Sat Input on the outside of the RV. I don't know what else it could be. Have proved that it's not the dome because it will work fine if plugged in directly to the inserter box. We even bought a new RG6 cable in case something was wrong with the one we had.Re: Connecting Winegard G2+Source is set to satellite. Antenna switch off...hmm, don't think we have ever turned that off but will make sure when I try it again later today. Thanks!Re: Connecting Winegard G2+This setup procedure has worked in the past. But now we cannot get it to find a signal. Connecting the cable directly to the inserter box it begins searching and find a signal right away. I suspect that something is going on with the connection at the RV. And of course that is all inside the walls. LOL Thanks for your help everyone!Re: Connecting Winegard G2+What seems wrong with it? I have that manual and it is set up as per the instructions. What do you do different?Connecting Winegard G2+Can someone tell me the correct order of connecting things? I have the Winegard G2+, a Direct TV receiver and Sat Input connection on the outside of the RV. Here is how I "THINK" I should do it. Winegard inserter box plugged in but not powered on. Direct TV box unplugged TV source set to Satellite 1. Connect the cable to the Sat Input on the RV 2. Connect cable to the Dome 3. Push button to power on Winegard Inserter box. At this point Satellite dome should search for a signal Once it finds signal plug in Direct TV receiver. Should now be able to watch TV Is this the right order of doing things?
