Yes it was at the dealer for a week and not one of them looked. I’m not retired with endless time on my hands, took a while for me to be able to look at it.Re: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue help [img] [/img] Attached (hopefully) are the much anticipated pictures. Went to dealer today and after much debate and threatening by me the tech went out and confirmed that it is 50 amp. As he went through and diagnosed he deduced that the converter was not getting power… which caused the electrical issues I was having. Now that is resolved and confirmed trailer is getting power from shoreline as it should. They also furnished an email from heartland with my complete build and in there it does state 50 amp with second AC pre wiring. No idea why I got the wrong information yesterday. So it can all be boiled down to manufacture putting the wrong sticker on, dealer not knowing their hand from their ass, and non related electrical issue making it seem worse than it is. It is getting 2nd AC put on at the moment and we will be set for AZ! Overall this is the outcome that I was hoping for and I’m gunna roll with it! Thanks to all for input.Re: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue helpI am going to try and get to the dealer today and see if I can take pictures of the breakers. I’m sure they have been dragging their feet and haven’t looked into it at all. This is turning into quite the disaster. My gut tells me I should get rid of the trailer but I doubt they will do that without a fight. Going to do some research into consumer law and try to be preparedRe: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue helpCopy that is the stance I will take. The trailer will be very much lived in with kids and cooking etc so constantly tripping breakers and half ass AC won’t be acceptable. Thank you all for the input.Re: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue helpWell, the plot thickens. I just got off of the phone with Heart land I asked them to look up my build based on VIN. They told me that my trailer was supposed to be shipped with the 50 amp cord that I have but that there is supposed to be an “adapter” between cord and trailer. He stated that the trailer itself is 30 amp but when I told him that I want to run a second AC he said that will be no problem at all. I asked if this is some kind of hybrid between 50 and 30 and he said yes exactly. So everything in my trailer is 120v…. And it’s 30 amp but supposedly I can run 2 ACs? I was hoping for clarification but this makes the whole thing even more convoluted. I talked to my sales guy and he said that was the craziest thing he’d ever heard, I don’t know much but I have to agree with him!Re: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue help dougrainer wrote: ODG255 wrote: wa8yxm wrote: Another way to tell if it's really a 30 or 50 is to post a photo of the INLET 50 amp inlets have 3 blades (And a 4th contact you might not notice) I don’t know how to post photos on here but it has three blades and the 4th contact. I googled 30 versus 50 amp inlet and it definitely appears 50. That describes a 50 amp system. Doug Click this link for a pic of a 50 amp wall connection. Go to the dealer and take pictures on the cord, CB panel etc. Click on Open Roads Forum at the top, find the picture posting thread and post the pics, it's easy. There are unanswered questions, etc. Again suggest you get independent help as the dealer is jerking you around and given what you've posted they are either idots, clueless or something worse, which is also not unusual. Question: Is the second A/C location wired and/or do you have a plan? I live in the Phoenix area and TRUST ME you do not want to spend 2 summer months here w/o fully adequate and operational A/Cs along with everything else. It sounds like a used modified RV. IF SO I'd absolute want to know who, how and when the mods were done were they done with good quality. There is NO electrical code requirements or inspections for a RV unlike a house. Most likely the dealer will not take the RV back, did you buy "AS-IS"? No dealer warranty? Factory warranty invalid for modifications. Dealers are typically paid less for factory warranty work and can take months. Your work might be done by September. I'm posting this not to be critical of you but rather suggest you become very involved, knowledgable and get on top of the issues. Sir, there is no doubt I am in over my head. And unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time and more important issues between work and the kids. If I can’t get the trailer dialed in soon I’ll have to do an Air Bnb or Ronald McDonald house and we’d rather not do that. I will post pictures in the next couple days.Re: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue help Bobbo wrote: Post your city, Nevada is pretty big. Maybe someone on this forum who knows RV wiring lives nearby. But AC also worked while camping but presumably off solar. It was near perfect out so AC ran very very little. " Your AC will not run off solar. Very few high end coaches have the battery capacity and inverters to run an AC. Yours isn't one of them. Even if it was, it would run off batteries, not solar. Your solar on your unit is only enough to keep the batteries topped off in storage. If you were running AC then you were plugged in. Not trying to be crass, but you might want to do a little homework on what works in an RV on 12 v and what works on shore power. After reading through this whole thread I would guess you tripped a breaker and don't know where it is. Even if wired incorrectly it would't work running ac at the dealership and then also while camping for a while. A few clarifying questions; How many AC units do you have? Do you have residential refrigerator? Does it work? Do any/all of your outlets work? How many batteries? What is the state of those batteries? Have you checked all fuse panels/boxes (many rv's have more than one). Is there any chance you were running the AC and microwave at the same time? Is it possible you tripped the campground loop breaker and your coach has no problems after all? I did that once running ac and microwave at a state park - it didn't trip anything in my coach or at the pedestal, but tripped the breaker at the control for my loop. I only have one AC. Goal was to install second AC before phoenix trip. I do not know if I have a residential refrigerator but it does work ( did during day not night) All outlets work, just fireplace never worked. One battery, when I purchased it two weeks ago brand new obviously. I checked the breakers in the one location I was told there are breakers and none were tripped. Did not diagnose fuses in the field. We never used the microwave at all. Definitely not AC and microwave. I’m not sure about tripping power on the loop, I did see others near us using power.
