Replaced original 7 yr old Goodyear GST's when purchased in 2012 with the same tires, that looked great by the way, and no problems with our new ones and very even wear. As a precaution (6 yrs later), we replaced them with same tires in 2018. About the same time, we also replaced the original Dexter Hub and Drum Assembly 7000 lb Nev-R-Lube Axles, Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies, and Dexter Shock Absorbers. After 16 mos and ~ 10-15k miles, we have now discovered that ALL 4 of our Goodyear GST's have very significant wear on the inside of the tires. What????? Never a problem in 7 yrs?!? Best I can figure, either: 1) hubs/drums were not properly installed, 2) hubs/drums were defective from factory, or 3) axles have failed or been damaged Since we've owned this rig now for 7 yrs, I seriously doubt we've overloaded it weight-wise as nothing much has change since. Appreciate any thoughts you all may have. Thanks!Leaky Hydraulic HosesWe have a 2005 Mobile Suites 36RE that has developed leaky hydraulic lines in the pump and battery compartment. Some are due to loose fittings but also directly through the hoses; the black rubber coating has completely rotted off and you can see seepage. No idea if lines are also leaking back to the slideouts, but we've seen no evidence. My question is how to troubleshoot this and replace any lines as needed. Is dropping the belly of the 5er the only option to trace lines and check for leaks?Re: G614 blow out on FridayThanks for sharing. We have a set of G-614's on our Mobile Suites installed new Oct, 2012. Mostly driven in summer months, but otherwise sits in enclosed Texas storage 8-9 months per year. No issues, tires look great, currently only ~20k miles, and balanced/rotated every 10k. How much longer would you push these tires?Re: Flooded Storage Unit - mold/mildew?Thanks everyone! Great suggestions. The RV has no lingering odors far as I can tell. I've put a dehumidifier inside for next couple days and will wipe down all surfaces with appropriate cleaners. We're the lucky ones.....pray and offer any assistance you can for those more deeply affected. Thanks.Flooded Storage Unit - mold/mildew?Our enclosed outdoor storage unit (non-climate controlled) recently took on 10" of floodwaters during the recent Houston floods. Our 5th wheel was fine, but rest of our furniture, boxes and "stuff" got soaked. Flooding occurred several days ago and water receded quickly, but mold/mildew has already begun on the perimeter "stuff". Planning to empty storage locker tomorrow, pressure wash concrete floor, metal walls, and RV (lightly), and let all air dry. I know 5th wheels are not hermetically sealed, anything else I should consider?RV Detailing - Houston/Galveston AreaWe need a good wash/wax and detailing of our 5er. Any suggestions (good, bad, or ugly) of available service providers in our area? Any thoughts are appreciated.
