Would it work to have a truck camper sitting on top of that? I can remove the safety chain u-bolts, but the carriage bolt heads would still be sticking up. If I really had to I guess I could remove the whole hitch plate whenever I need to, but that would leave a big hole in the truck bed.Plumbing pressure reliefI'm running on internal water (not city water). I don't leave the water heater turned on all the time (too wasteful to do so) and when I turn it on it raises the pressure in the whole plumbing system way too high, and I get water leaking from the toilet onto the bathroom floor. The only way I've found to deal with this is to shut off the pump and briefly open a faucet every 10 minutes to relieve the pressure, until the heater gets hot and the pressure stabilizes, which gets pretty annoying. There is a pressure relief valve on the water heater, but apparently it's only intended to protect the heater tank, and opens at too high a pressure to do anything for the plastic plumbing. Is there some kind of relief valve that opens at a lower pressure, which I could install somewhere in the system and have it drain overboard?Bending plywood for roofI'm installing new 7/16 plywood on the roof of a trailer. The framework in the roof is flat and then angles down a few degrees near the edge (as opposed to having a gradual curve all the way across). What's the best way to make a big sheet of plywood bend down an inch or 2 at the sides?Re: What brand hitch is this? What I'm wondering about is how the rails are intended to bolt to the truck. They are farther apart than the frame rails. But if I unbolt the vertical brackets and flip them around they might possibly line up... My dad only needs this hitch for occasional towing of a lightweight 19 ft trailer.Re: What brand hitch is this? The pictures are not showing up for me. Rubber roof glue?I had to peel back a corner of my rubber roof to repair the wood underneath. I will need to glue the rubber back down. Is there a specific type of glue that I need to use?Replace PEX tubes with flexible hose?I'm repairing a piece of rotten floor in my trailer, and the trouble is, there are some PEX tubes right in the way of where I need to cut. I need to disconnect it somehow to gain access. Would it work to cut off the collars around the tubes and cut the tubes off, and then when I'm ready to reconnect it, just use a short section of braided clear flexible hose attached to the PEX fitting with a hose clamp? Will the hose be OK on the hot water side? Or maybe automotive heater hose, if I can find some small enough. What kind of winter work is available in the southwest?I'm thinking of going to the southwest US for the winter. What kind of seasonal/temporary jobs might I find there to do for a few months? I'm NOT interested in volunteer-camp-host type jobs, I want an actual paying job. I don't really care what it is--driving trucks or tractors, mechanical work, farm work, whatever--just so it's not sales.Re: Battery security and shutoff downtheroad wrote: Maybe this.....Battery Lock....LINK Here's what I made out of a 3/16 x 1 inch steel bar, a couple padlocks, and a couple old holding tank drain valve bolts. I didn't wanna pay over $30 for one of those commercially available battery locks. Yes, someone could cut through my steel bar in just a few minutes with a hacksaw. But a thief will go for the easiest target. There's no sense standing in plain sight, hacksawing on a trailer, just to steal a Walmart battery. Or making a lot of noise with a power cutoff tool.
