All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Diesel push HP recommendationThere are a lot coaches available with engines rate from 500 to 600 hp but the hp/wt ratio still dictates performance. I remember my beaver PT with 425 hp was a virtual rocketship compared to many but it only weighed in at 31,000 lbs. Turns out the C-12 could be dialed up to 455 with a simple visit to the Cat dealer. You should be able to find something is OK for you needs.Re: National General RV InsuranceThanks for the comments. On the surface this doesn't sound like a company I wish to to business with. I'll dig around for some more reviews but will more than likely give them a pass.National General RV InsuranceI'm thinking about changing my insurance from Interstate to National General for cost reasons but would hate to end up with a company that is difficult to work with on claims. National Interstate had been great to work with on the two claims I've had and don't want to potentially have issues just to save $300.00. I would appreciate any comments from those that have had claims with General. Thanks for any input. DickRe: How safe is the dealer with your stuff?I seldom drop the coach off and instead ask for power hookup in the parking lot and than I just stay with the coach. A couple of time that was not possible and had no issues but I will only take it to a dealer with some security.Re: Winnebago basement A/CIf yours is anything like mine there also a two speed fan. I can set the thermostat for auto, low or high speeds. I also have a separate switch that allow either one or two compressor operation.Re: Tom Tom Go vs Co-Pilot on 10"TabletStill playing with my TomTom Go and, for me, much superior to the CoPilot but not nearly as good as my standalone Gramin Nuvi for ease of operation. They all seem to get me from A to B about the same, just that the Garmin is so much easier to use while driving. The large 10" screen has some advantages no question but still, just wondering it it's worth it. For example: I'm tooting along thinking it would be nice to find a rest stop....read over press the "where to" button, select near my current route, auto services, than rest stop. Bingo, all the rest stop along my current route pop up. Can't do that on either CoPilot or Tom Tom. Or, if I can, it certaily isn't obvious. Now that someone has mentioned another option I may give it at try also.Re: Curious....anyone buy a motorhome in their 70'sYep, bought the first one (40') at 70, bought the current one at 73 and at 75 still enjoying long summer 5 month trips. Check back in 5-7 years but expect to still be on the road.Re: Picture of MSRP 06 Monaco Exec 2oldman wrote: $1,185 for a maintainer? Please.. it has to be more than that, especially with 8 batteries and a resi fridge. There's something odd going on here.... More than likely it's one or two 100 W panels with controller.Re: Day/night shades motorized rv shadesOur coach has been converted to all MCD day/night shades...including the windshield. Well worth the $$$ and you can do the conversion over a period of time to defer the cost if necessary.Re: Picture of MSRP 06 Monaco ExecSometimes the original MSRP is quite a shock. I had the build sheet run for my 2002 Beaver Marquis Emerald and it was $751,082. Regarding the Aladdin system, there have been a lot of interesting problems with it and many conversions to the Silverleaf. IMHO, the Silverleaf is a superior system and is well supported. I also believe they make a drop in replacement for the Aladdin for this very reason. I really like ours and it's original equipment. FYI, good looking coach you got.
