The Workhorses we found were pretty much used up.Re: One night stays and black/grey tanksWhen doing a series of short stays, I let the stuff slosh till it's about half full. My twist is that I then dump and flush as soon as I get on the next site...before things settle. Then, I close and wait till half full again. Been doing this lots of years and it works for me.Fuel Mileage on 8.1 WorkhorseI drove DP's for years. Thinking about a 30 ft Workhorse. What kind of gas mileage can I expectLooking for a generatorHave always had onboard generators with motorhomes. Have downsized to a Travel Trailer. Feeling the need for a generator for the RV, and as a backup for the house. One big enough for the RV Air Conditioner/Microwave, etc would work for the "emergency leg" of the breaker box in the house. What would you suggest? Propane? Duel Fuel? Electric Start? Other considerations?Re: Walmart RV parking appI used to use a road atlas with a Walmart list in the back. Now, I just do a GPS search for Walmart... Along route... a few hours before I plan to stop for the night. Google Maps on the cell phone will also find all Walmarts in the area. I go this route because I make every effort to minimize apps on the phone.4-Seasons OptionsI sold a motorhome last year and bought a 1985 Lance TT. Love the little camper, but it is just too little. Looked at bigger Lance options, but do not like the floorplans. Like the Winnebago 2500FL, but it is not true 4-Season. What other TT's are true 4-season?Re: Are Thor's getting better?I was actually looking at the Sprinter based units. Maybe the little "crossovers" or whatever they call them. The 25 to 26 foot units. I like the Coachman Prism 2200LE, and the Winnebago Via. Thor has some counterparts. Not sure I trust the Thor brand yet?Are Thor's getting better? When we were shopping for a new RV a few years ago, the Thor models did not have a very good reputation. I don't want to write them off this time, based on historical input. Are the newer ones any better?Re: Downsizing is not easyWe have accumulated around 200,000 miles in 3 larger motorhomes. Two were pushers. We are through running all over the country, but still want a "camper" to take to the lake. A DP is overkill IMO. So, we agreed to downsize. Still need bigger tanks, FULL queen bed, and comfortable seating. It's pretty hard to find all the necessities in a 5 to 10 year old 30 footer.Downsizing is not easyIn May, we sold our 04 Dutch Star Diesel with the intent of downsizing. I thought selling would be hard. That was easy, compared to the headache of finding something small that can effectively replace a 98 Dutch Star, followed by a new 04 Dutch Star. A crazy strong market for nice, short Class A's has not helped. Anyone know of a newer, short Newmar or Tiffin gasser for sale?
