To be clear I've got a drw truck. We'll add bags, torqlift, and helwig sway bars. Are more springs or different shocks necessary? Someone made a comment about no towing, why is that?Re: New Truck Camper Owner seeks truck adviceAside from Air Bags does is there anything else we should do. In talking with the sales folks a DRW Chevy/Ford 3500 is the truck these things were designed for. Is it to much camper? Will it not be safe or not handle well. We'd like to do extended road trips with it and the main purpose of getting it over a motorhome or 5th wheel is that we thought it would be easier to get around and more comfortable in ride than a trailer.New Truck Camper Owner seeks truck adviceAm about to pull the trigger on a 2015 Eagle Cap 1165. We had debated getting a motorhome, we've got two kids. I wanted the ability to really get into places and we were afraid that with a motorhome we would be limited in where we could go. Anyhow I've got a 2013 Chevrolet 3500HD and its bone stock accept for running boards. What do folks recommend to give us the smoothest ride possible. Is it possible to expect a good comfortable ride out these things with all that weight on them? Thanks JonRe: Best platform for travelling with kidsGreat advice. Thanks!Best platform for travelling with kidsWe are going to pick up a new RV this summer and are curious what folks think is the best setup for travelling with 2 young kids. We are torn between a class A diesel (which we like the fit and finish of the best) and a 5th wheel toy hauler (which has all the extra sleeping arrangements). Since this will be the first time we've done RVing with kids any advice from experienced folks is appreciated. We've owned 5th wheels and a diesel pusher but never with kids. We had also toyed with the idea of truck camper because we love how easy to get back into national forests it is. That would be our intended use, to visit national parks and Colorado/Wyo/NM national forests.Best TT for retired couple looking to travelMy in-laws have a Volkswagen Tourig Diesel (8000lb towing capacity). I'm trying to help them find the nicest camper that they could tow with their car. Any advice? So far we've liked the Lance 2295 the most. Is there anything nicer / better built? ThanksRe: New 2015 Lance 1172 Arrived!!!What percentage off MSRP were you able to get?Lance 1172Am considering a lance 1172. Wondering what folks think of them? How does your truck handle the weight? Are truck campers generally the same as RV's in terms of selling price. Expect to get 30% off MSRP.Re: Inverters on ToyhaulersSo it sounds like: * Toyhaulers do not come from the factory with an inverter to tun the T.V. / Bluray without generator * Solar panels are a must and it sound slike 300-600 watts is the right size coupled with 3-4 golf cart batteries. Do the designers anticpiate this and leave space for additional house batteries ? * I meant Naiotnal Forest not national parks as we spend a fair amount of time in the Rosevelt National forest. We see lots of folks with campers but don't see many which LARGE toy haulers. * How do these trailers tow (with trail air and without)? Has anyone here owned or towed a Momentum 385? Do these heavier rigs get blown around when its windy. It gets real windy here from time to time. J
