All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Good Sam Camp Directory cut in half?Hi everyone, I work on the Good Sam RV Travel & Savings Guide and I read the posts on the AAA guides, and East and West directories. The AAA regional guides are published by us, and they contain the same campground information, reprinted by region, that's found in the Travel & Savings Guide. The AAA partnership began with Woodall's, and continued after Woodall's and Trailer Life, (both already being part of the same company), merged campground directories in 2013. AAA supply these at their discretion to their members. With regard to the Woodall's East and West versions - we no longer publish those separately after we merged directories. We always look at the most viable publishing options and at this time the national version is the most widely received and best option to print. However, you can install and use the iPhone version on your iPad. Thank you Triker33 and Campfire Time for posting the links for both iOS and Android versions: Good Sam Camping App - iOS and Android Regards, Ellen Tyson Good Sam RV Travel & Savings GuideRe: Good Sam campground guideHello Shearwater, I am sorry to read you were not satisfied with the Good Sam RV Travel Guide. The listings you refer are complementary listings, and include public parks (state, national and provincial). These listings do have limited information, but all include a phone number and either an address if a private campground, or directions if a public park, and we offer the park the option to enhance their information in their listing. We always encourage users to call ahead to confirm amenities and if space is available before arriving. Please note that ALL private campgrounds, whether Good Sam or not, are rated and inspected each year. Your feedback is very much appreciated and we always take it seriously when we begin working on future editions of the Travel Guide. Kind regards, Ellen Sr. Marketing and Product Manager Good Sam EnterprisesRe: Help on campground directoriesHello everyone, Please be assured the 2015 Good Sam RV Travel & Savings Guide is still a vital campground directory, with over 13,000 listings for RV parks and campgrounds, including 2,100+ Good Sam Parks. As well as listings you'll find a whole host of useful information, color maps, destination and trip ideas as well as money saving coupons. It continues to provide the trusted 10/10*/10 Good Sam ratings for campgrounds and RV parks. The ratings are not in any way determined, or connected to, the advertising RV parks and campgrounds choose to place in the guide. Regards, Ellen Tyson Sr Marketing & Product Manager Good Sam RV Travel & Savings GuideRe: California, Oregon, and WashingtonHello, We released an update for the Good Sam Camping mobile app in December - version 2.6. The new relese fixed a bug that was causing no results on searches. If you're not sure if your device has updated to the newest version of the app - you can delete it and reinstall from the App Store to ensure you get the latest version installed on your device. Thanks, Ellen Tyson Sr. Marketing & Product Manager Good Sam RV Travel & Savings GuideRe: Good Sam Campground Directory—To BigHi Everyone, I work on the Good Sam RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory and wanted address a couple of the points raised in this thread. When our two brands, Woodalls and Trailer Life Directory, were merged the resulting Good Sam directory is almost the same in size. We kept the most popular format and content from both brands. To split the book into two separate editions for East and West would at this time incur additional production costs and therefore higher retail prices. If you are a AAA member, we do still produce the Woodalls|AAA regional directories that are available exclusively through AAA offices. We do hear all the feedback and always take it into consideration when in production for new editions. Regards, Ellen Tyson Good Sam EnterprisesRe: resortsHi bigdogger - I think there is some confusion about a park's rating, and how we gather that information. A park's rating is based on the physical inspection made by the review team and adheres to the ratings guidelines set by Good Sam only. The rating inspection is a requirement for all private RV parks and campgrounds by Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Coast to Coast. No RV park or campground (private or franchise owned) pays any kind of fee to be inspected or pays any kind of fee for their final rating. A policy that has been in place for many years. Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Coast to Coast are sister companies and therefore utilize the same review teams and rating guidelines. We employ 35 review teams to inspect private RV parks and campgrounds throughout North America. The Good Sam rating inspection is a job performed by our review teams and they are remunerated by Good Sam Enterprises only. Franchise parks such as KOA or Yogi Parks go through the same rigorous inspection per park just like an individually, privately owned park. I would be happy to contact you directly if you have further questions about the ratings, just send me your email address. Regards, Ellen Tyson Good Sam RV Travel GuideRe: resortsHello all - To Bruce’s point, we'd like to clarify that no parks, including Good Sam Parks, pay for their ratings whatsoever. Their ratings are solely based on the physical inspection performed by the Good Sam Review Teams. Our Good Sam Review Teams are paid only for their time and inspection work in the field. And as Bruce has already mentioned, the Teams are paid by Coast to Coast management for the additional time and work involved for the Coast to Coast review and inspection process as well.
