I've closely examined all frame parts for the upper deck... no visible breaks in the weld, irregularities (crack/bowing) in the tubes. More thinking needed!Re: Portable Surge GuardNo experience with Technology Research, but I do have the Progressive Industries PT50c. It worked exactly as advertised and cut power to the RV when the incoming voltage dropped too low... and reset and resumed power when the line stabilized. Just FYI - I was staying at a well established RV & retirement community. It isn't just parks that can have power issues.Re: Excessive Wear on Catch Plate! Help?HW attached the capture plate to my pin box. The plate is needed for sliding hitches. The area showing wear is the underside of the plate, just behind where the plate has a bolt pressure-contacting the puck. The steel box around/protesting the bolt is showing the wear... loss of over 1mm of steel with only 3,000 miles is a concern. I suspect something is off & am confident Pullrite will have a recommendation once I send them the photos. I guess I'm glad for everyone else that it isn't so common that others had experience with it. YAY! Many thanks to Pullrite... the mystery is solved!! Lesson Learned: when a 5thW with a capture plate goes in to the shop for maintenance... the shop may not use the right equipment to move the RV. The 'standard' equipment can cause the damage that happened to mine. The fellow from Pullrite also spotted that one side of the locking bolt (which attaches the plate to the king pin) had been shorn off. On the plus side, the rig was still safe to take on the road. On the down side, the plate will be tougher to get off the RV & there was enough stress to mis-align the plate relative to the pin box. Next up - getting a new capture plate in place.Re: Excessive Wear on Catch Plate! Help? Many thanks for the advice. I have photos and will call PR on Monday. I've been using WD40 which lines up with the model/year that I have. So... I'll show them photos and see what they recommend. Thanks everyone!Excessive Wear on Catch Plate! Help?So... I've had the RV less than a year. I've only driven it about 3,000 miles. Pin Box & catch plate installed at Holiday World Houston (where I bought the RV). I just did a visual inspection in prep for cleaning/lube, etc. and noticed that the catch plate was no longer squared up on the pin box. Looking underneath, I noticed a lot of wear on the plate near where the bolt contacts the puck. Not quite 1mm worn through, but definitely getting there! Interestingly enough, there are no signs of wear on the hitch/hitch components. Specs: Basic Lippert Pin Box PullRite SuperGlide 16500 PullRite catch plate Sundance 2013 3300CK 2013 Ram 3500 diesel I have another 1,500 mile trip planned for May & don't feel good about this situation. Suggestions?Re: Finish Your Order & Get $5 Off Orders Over $50! BOGUS!!I actually just had this happen to me too, though I didn't get so far as to complain via the customer support line. The fine print on the coupon says, clearly, that it is not good in stores. .. but also that the cupon must be presented at time of purchase. I spent plenty on a couple of orders & was disappointed that the 'incentive' was fake. (Just bought a 2013 Sundance 3300ck, with a 2013 Ram 3500 diesel 4WD TV)Re: Dealer omissions? DelaminationMany thanks for the quick replies! I am dropping it & walking away.Dealer omissions? DelaminationI have finally figured out what I want in a fifth wheel and went out to a few dealerships to get some in-person perspective. I was shown one that would fit the bill quite nicely. A 2013 Sundance 3300 (38'). That said I noticed some bubbles near the roofline along one side, ranging from a couple of inches down from the roof to a bubble about 8"x8" a few inches down from the roof. I asked the dealer about it possibly being water damage and was told that the walls sometimes 'just did that' & that if there really was a leak, it would be obvious from the inside given all the recent rain. The inside was great. I'm sorry to say that I did put $ down... but I refused to finish signing the paperwork when I realized that they were only proposing to re-caulk 'if necessary'. I've done some focused reading & would appreciate a reality check... - the bubbling really is most likely water damage &I really can happen even to a 'young' unit - it may not be 'major', but their ' deny a probable problem' approach tells me I should walk away Thoughts? Thanks! Joann
