Wow, that is pretty cool. The google earth pc app is a resource hog but its otherwise very effective for elevation as described. Wish the app had the same function but I'll take it! Cheers. any mapping tools for steep incline or declines? Any suggestions on apps or websites specifically for identifying steep hills (up and down), along a planned route? I don't mind them, I just don't like being surprised by them. We always know where we're going so its just where we are to the next place. I predominantly use google maps so if there is already something in there I'm missing, that'd be great! Other apps would be great too! RV Cover Rolls rotates around RV during high winds through the winter Hopefully someone else has this problem. I have a 36' Class A, living in Pacific Northwest. In the late fall I winterize and cover the RV with an ADCO style cover, with straps that go under the RV. The cover fits well and the straps are snug but not tight. Any sort of heavy winds and the cover starts to rotate clockwise around the RV. Over the course of months it gets worse and worse, until what should be the bottom touching the ground is mid-way up the rv, making it impossible to enter the RV without first releasing all the straps, climbing on top of the RV, and resetting the tarp. Its a very unsafe feeling, especially in the winter. I've tried tying it off to a fence but it just shifted and rolled the other way. Recently I tied one of the straps to a very large cement block, but instead the strap snapped off. Its really not that windy here very much. Am guessing I'm missing something and others have solved this problem? Cheers Re: Where to find a center mechanism for Jalousie WindowI said "pardon?"... 8-) Everything I found for these windows was either right or left mounted mechanisms (or screws), where the windows were square and the mech was positioned against the bottom corner of the window. My windows are rounded corners and this mech sits in the bottom middle with a bar on each side, perpendicular or 90 deg to the mech as you say. I am super grateful as this never would've come up on a regular google. I did find the HEHR site prior but didn't see anything other than new windows and parts.Re: Where to find a center mechanism for Jalousie WindowI'm going to order 2 x Part number: 008-220(center operator): (Handle) 109-028. I noticed the hehr international has the parts as well, so can try them both and seeRe: how to properly seal Jalousie RV windowsafter spending quite a bit of time inspect and dissecting it, I've come to the conclusion that its just regular neoprene (closed cell) 1/2" by 1/8" single sided weather stripping. Same stuff you might use in your house. I find it hard to believe this is what was installed stock, but I've had the RV since it was almost new, so perhaps it really is just that. Anyways, thanks MountainAir05. Appreciate the responseRe: Where to find a center mechanism for Jalousie WindowThanks Rome1, appreciate the confidence if I go with that option. The websites aren't sketchy but they are archaic, look like they were built in the 90s. Even though the site shows the part, you never really know if you'll get it.Re: Where to find a center mechanism for Jalousie Window@Dick_B - Perhaps you missed this? "I've tried searching for double sided, two sided, and center, but no luck." @enblethen - YES!!! Holy heck, you found it!. Not only do they have the mech but they have the handles. So crazy they don't describe with words. Have you ever ordered from them? I'll try sending them an email and see about whether the parts are available. THANKS SO MUCH!!!Anyone tried Bluetooth Backup Cameras?Has anyone tried upgrading to the latest bluetooth backup cameras? Any suggestions on good brands or things to watch out for would be great to know. Thanks in advanceWhere to find a center mechanism for Jalousie WindowI have a 1993 Class A RV and both rear windows are Hehr Jalousie windows. In both cases, the mechanism, or screw, that opens and closes the window is located in the center bottom of the window. Not the right, not the left, but right in the middle. Due to this, the bar (or pipe) that spins and opens and closes the window, is attached to both sides of the mechanism (or screw). Basically one on each side. The window has rounded corners, which is why I'm guessing it uses a center mech. So, one of the mechanisms has cracked open. I have temp fixed it with a clamp, but it won't last. I need to replace it and should probably just replace both while I'm at it. Everywhere I've searched I've only found replacement mechanisms that are either right or left. I've tried searching for double sided, two sided, and center, but no luck. Anyone had any experience with this?
