Question; Is this sufficient to protect the electronics in the MH, or Is additional protection needed? Thanks for your replies.Re: Where to Dump? bukhrn wrote: Yes, Flying J dumps are locked, but a Good Sam card & $7.50 will unlock them, or $10.00 without the card. Or $5:00 with RVPlus card from Pilot/ Flying J.Re: PSA ---- MORE Harbor Freight RECALL--PLEASE READ T18skyguy wrote: It's a nice mea culpa letter, but I learned my lesson with their stuff years ago. If its a tool for a critical operation, or safety related, or you need it to last, buy elsewhere. I bought their AC manifold pressure gauge set and it exploded in my face, and I was using it correctly. It could have blinded me. Bought a 100ft #12 HD extension cord many years ago. First time I went to use it, wouldn’t convey current. Did a continuity check and one leg was defective. Took it back for exchange and because it was more than 30 days MGR said he couldn’t (wouldn’t )exchange it, although you could see it had not been used. His choice, been in a HB store once in the eight years since, and spent $7.00. Solution: bought new male & female plugs repaired cord, still using today. When will these places learn that we as consumers do have a choice where we will and where we wont spend our money.Re: Leaving tow bar connected to MHI have a Blue Ox tow. bar, keep it on MH, covered with accessory vinyl cover. Remove it from MH once a year for cleaning, inspecting, and new grease on bars. Always clean and lube receiver before reinstall.Re: Air brakes on Towed H & E wrote: M&G in my opinion is the way to go. As said, one air line and that’s it for brake hookup. Also if you can take it to Athens, TX, They are 1st class all the way. We are from N. TX, drove down day before, stayed at State Park a few miles away. Very glad to hear that. I am having their system installed at the factory tomorrow. They will also set up the lights and charging line for the battery. Yes, we too had them do the complete set up, Hopefully you have come away with the same positive opinion of M&G factory that we came away with.Re: Air brakes on TowedM&G in my opinion is the way to go. TX, drove down day before, stayed at State Park a few miles away. Following morning drove to M&G, pulled MH in one bay, towed in another. While we stayed in MH We could watch installation as they installed Blue Ox base plate on 2017 Terrain, M&G brake system and air line on MH. In and out in about 2-21/2 hours.Re: Safety ChainsThanks for the responsesSafety ChainsI have the Blue Ox safety chains, which have hooks on “towed “ end and threaded links on MH end, I assume there is a reason they are made that way. I have considered placing hooks on MH end as well in order to speed up hooking & unhooking. Any views as to why I should or shouldn’t consider this change. I don’t want to compromise safety for speed, but if it doesn’t, then I’ll opt for the time saved.inquisitiveThis question is for those with Blue Ox tow bar system. When traveling and reaching temporary destination, ( maybe just a few days) do you always remove the spring loaded pins from the towed? I have always removed them when I unhook, but was wondering, what most others do. And do you have a reason as:to why or is it just a personal preference? Inquiring Miinds :)Re: shield for towed carI too tow a 2017 Terrain. The owners manual states” Use of a shield mounted in front of the vehicle grille could restrict airflow and cause damage to the transmission. The repairs would not be covered by the vehicles warranty. If using a shield, only use one that attaches to the towing vehicle.” Have you considered a protect a tow? this would protect, plus allow circulation.
