While traveling down south, we ran into another couple who did business with Charles Schwab. All ATM fees are returned to your account at the end of the month and there are no internaitonal fees. Another plus is free checks, although we rarely use them. We usually get about $500 U.S. in pesos at the cambio before crossing although we don't get the best deal. We are always afraid of running into empty ATM's. Once on the way, we have time to check for other options.Re: Motorhome FireI contacted Sonia and she was very helpful. Thank you for steering me to her.Re: Crossing back into USThank youRe: Motorhome FireMoisheh - Thank you very much. We will certainly take your advice. I really do want this cleared up.Re: Motorhome FireBy the way, we did call the office in Palenque and faxed them a copy of what Mexico City wanted. We did not just ignore the whole situation. We have done all we can at this point without hiring someone. Don't know what to do. No answers from anyone anywhere.Re: Motorhome FireOur burned van which was a total loss (burned to the ground) is still in limbo after a year. We spent 2 days with federal police and a judge in Palenque. Sent our many pages of legal paperwork to Mexico City. It took them only 3 days to return all of it. All they want is who in authority disposed of the van and did we cause any damage to the flora and fauna. Instead of returning it to us (we are in the US now), why can't they find out this information directly from the people In Authority who signed our documents in Palenque? At this point, we just cross in the wife's name, but I would really like my name to be cleared without spending tons of money to do it.Crossing back into USKeelhauler1 - just wondering if you have crossed back to the U.S. yet and where you crossed at. Interested in your experience.Re: Crossing at Los Indios soon (Maybe)I totally agree briansueRe: Los Algodones Dental ExperienceI needed so much dental work done that I absolutely could not afford it in the US. For the past 5 years I have been seeing a dentist in Progresso, Mexico. He has done root canals, crowns and now a bridge. He is excellent. His prices were $200 for a crown and $300 for a root canal. He is such a perfectionist it is unbelievable. And he told me the last time I was there that if I have my grown kids come down for dental work, he would give me a discount on my bridge which I can't remember the price now but it was either $600 or $900. I would refuse a discount because he is such a nice guy and so good. His name is Dr. Sergio A. Vazquez Rivera, Calle Reynosa No. 209, Nvo. Progreso, Tam. Direct ph # from US 011-52-899-0710. He works alone with an assistant. Very small office but don't let that fool you. He is great.Re: Crossing at Los Indios soon (Maybe)Check this out on the internet (we heard it on tv) Go to: Mexican tourists Now Traveling With Police Escorts to the US Border. The only difference is it says they are leaving from Reynosa and Matamoras. The tv said from the border. Anyway, something to think about. We may leave out of AZ. Have done that route before and then over to the Pacific. I like the Gulf better, but however I can get to the farthest place south, is the way we will go. Still in need of my Mexico FIX!!!
