All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: tow vehicleI tow a 2013 Ford Focus with a Roadmaster All Terain tow bar. I can hook up or unhook in well under 5 minutes. And it tows 4 on the ground no problemRe: Unscientific Opinion PollThanks Mobilebasset. You have pointed out a good reason to not even leave the gray tank open. I had not thought about that.Unscientific Opinion PollI have noticed a large number of RVers who pull into a campground and immediately hook up their sewer line and open the black dump valve and leave it open for weeks at a time. I have been RVing for 15 years and when I bought my first rig, I was told to wait until my black tank was 2/3 full before dumping. Leaving the dump valve open lets the water and liquid go out, but the solid waste tends to build up in the tank. I don't need to describe the potential problems. Plus using the gray tank AFTER dumping the black tank helps to flush out the sewer line. Has the logic for this changed over the years? You can POSSIBLY leave the gray tank open (it is just soapy water usually) but NEVER, NEVER leave the black tank open. Is that still a good rule to follow? Thanks in advance.Steering StabilizerWe went on our first long trip and discovered that on a long haul on the Freeway, the steering is pretty loose and the rig has a tendency to wander all over the road. So you are always fighting the vehicle and constantly making little adjustments to keep it on a straight and narrow line. I am considering having steering stabilizers installed. Has anyone else had the stabilizers installed and did it make a significant difference? Thanks for the assistance. I think they can do it at Camping World.Re: New Concord 300DSAvan, Actually the PDI is where all this started. The tech said this was a terrible idea from Coachmen and that they see a lot of people come in with it torn off and sometimes damaging the coach. I ASSUMED he knew what he was talking about. We all know what assume does. From the comments I think I might like it and will not jump to any conclusions.New Concord 300DSI just took delivery on a 2016 Coachmen Concord 300DS Class C. My question is regarding that Sewer Storage contraption under the Drivers side of the unit. I believe the intent is to give a place to store the Sewer Line and just swing it out to use it in the campground. My concern is that the way it hangs down I am worried that it might hit on something and damage the body of the RV. If anyone has a Coachmen with this goofy sewer storage rig, please let me know if you are satisfied with it and/or have had any problems with it. Also let me know if I am misinterpreting the use for it. We are just getting it loaded up and have yet to take it on a maiden voyage. If you would like to see a picture of it, I can attach it to another post.Re: Tow BarsThank you everyone for all your valuable information. It looks like a tie between Blue Ox and Roadmaster. So I have decided to go with the Roadmaster All Terrain Tow Bar with the Roadmaster base plate on the Ford Focus and the Invisi-Brake braking system. Thanks again.Tow BarsIn YHO (Your Humble Opinion) what is the best tow bar system for a 2013 Ford Focus behind a Coachmen Concord MH? The car weighs 3,000, so should I have the brakes on it also?Re: MasceratorsThanks lanerd. All good info.Re: MasceratorsThanks mlts22 for the info. I have nevwee used one before, and I was wondering whether the portable one or the permanent one worked the best.
