I could be wrong (the gov't wording of these things is always terrible) but I am pretty sure it was ok.Re: Nomadland 6door74 wrote: IAMICHABOD wrote: Watched last nite.I did like it,I have met some folks like the ones in the movie and I think they were portrayed very well. Most of them are real people who live that lifestyle. That plus the story and great acting by the "real" actors made it great to me. It was filmed in 2018 and look where we are now. People who ended up in similar circumstances. Some by choice and others not. My daughter is hell bent on living in a camper van and I'm not opposed to it. I would love to live on the road though I would need some amenities that a van can't provide. She's only 16 so I have some time. But i had her watch it so she can see it's not only the glamour she sees on social media. She will get over that, or at least the van part. Young people like the van idea because its the cheapest and easiest way to independence. Wheels and their own place all in one. Right out of college I was stuck and "van life" had the same affect on me but that has turned into a class A now (along with RV parks/resorts instead of walmart parking lots). You also have to find a career that allows it.Re: Gas RV Front Table IdeasSmall folding table? I picked one up and use it all the time when camping, it would fit between the seats of your rig and could be folded up and put to use elsewhere afterwards. Re: Tiffin or Fleetwood. stripit wrote: Have now owned 2 Tiffin motorhomes, both were fantastic and have enjoyed the last one the most. Calling for questions is always answered correctly and quickly by Tiffin staff.. When I needed a part that too was handled well. When time comes to upgrade, I will look at what THOR did to Tiffin before making that decision. If they're smart they wont touch it. Keep in mind Thor owns Airstream (and Entegra), so it can work. If I was CEO I'd simply use Thors volume to get better deals on chassis's and any other shared parts and leave Tiffin alone 100%. I am pretty sure Thor buying Tiffin was directly because people dumped tons of money into their stock due to covid. Same as Winnebago buying Newmar, same thing.Re: What competes with Baystar & Open Road? Thanks I will check out the Coachmen Encore, no bunks needed though (nor a need to sleep or sit 8+ people ((as most seem to offer)), just me and the dog! Queen bed, larger than average kitchen space, good size washroom, desk/chairs instead of dinetteRe: Best time to buy new?Is 35% off MSRP really accurate? I've seen $200K units with $100K discounts. Mind you it was a new 2020 while 2021's were also on the lot beside it.Re: SchooliesI'd convert an older Prevost passenger bus before a school bus. They are pretty dang affordable, literal peanuts compared to a Prevost based RV. If you bought the right bus and did a good conversion you could possibly get all your money back when you sold it too. While no matter whats been done to a school bus, they also seem to be dirt cheap. What competes with Baystar & Open Road?Gas class A, upper end, 32-36'. I like the Newmar Baystar and the Tiffin Open Road Allegro. I haven't been in either of them but would like to know if there is anything out there similar? (I miss RV shows!!!)Re: Thor Structural Warranty ExperienceThor employee reviews, yikes https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Thor-Motor-Coach/reviewsRe: What the heck? I thought motorhomes lost value fast!!Totally agree, 2022-2023 there are going to be a lot of lightly used RV's for sale, so many that it might even mess with the new market as sales are up 54% right now! These aren't like cars and how most people NEED them. Nobody needs an RV
