In another thread of yours you were asking about adding a second battery to your new trailer, and that being the case you'd be well advised to integrate what you're doing with these tanks with what you intend to do with your battery setup. The rear set of rails would easily hold a pair of whatever choice of battery you make - G24s, G27s, even G31s, or as some suggested a pair of 6 volt GC-2s. However, if you tried to mount a pair of batts on that front set of rails you'd be sure to overhang the A-frame quite a bit, especially if your choice was G31s. You could add a platform to your A-frame as I've done to all the trailers I've owned, turn the pair of batts north-south rather than east-west, and perhaps have sufficient room for two. Start with using your tape measure to tell you what will and won't work. ;) I think for simplicity, I'm just going to get another identical battery as the one that came with the trailer. Won't really be doing much boondocking. Just thinking of in emergencies where we need a few hours of low usage power. At least for now. So I'd mount the 2nd battery at the back to keep the tongue weight a tad lower.Re: Double Propane Holder Doesn't Fit? BarneyS wrote: Cut a piece of marine or exterior plywood to fit between the two L brackets. Screw or bolt it down. Then screw or bolt down the propane bracket to the plywood. Barney Thanks. I'll try that. Was really hoping this would be a simple bolt-on when I ordered it. Thought it'd be a fairly easy/common thing. But guess every trailer is different eh.Re: Double Propane Holder Doesn't Fit? Hornnumb2 wrote: Just bolt it on top. The bracket is just at the size where it won't sit securely on top either. I'd have to use some sort of plate that is wider.Double Propane Holder Doesn't Fit?How are people mounting your double propane brackets? Mine doesn't fit and would rather not try to cut and remove the existing braces. Only other thing I can think of is getting some sort of plate to place on top of the to braces?Re: Adding a 2nd 'Similar' but not Identical Battery? westend wrote: kerrlakeRoo wrote: The battery you are looking at is a 65 amp hr battery, as a pair 130 total. Of which, as marine/rv batteries you can only use about 65 amps without over using them. If you change to GC-2 batteries you would be able to use up to 75% of the 220 amps available. I don't know what gc batteries will cost you up there but the difference in cost, and that you have to buy at least one no matter which way you go makes the upgrade to 6 volt batteries seem sensible. X2 I'd suggest to call a golf cart distributor and see what a pair of 6V's will cost. The GC2 6V from most brands has the same footprint as BCI GRP24. Thanks for that info. I'm going to ask if I can return the current one for a pair of Group 31's. I assume a pair of Group 31's will fit side by side in the front part of the trailer?Re: Adding a 2nd 'Similar' but not Identical Battery? You just paid what?, $25K Cdn, $30K, $35K, ?? for your new trailer and now you're worried over a few more $$ for a second battery of exactly the same type you already have in your first one? Ummmmm, OK. :S Convenience is primary. And since it's already inconvenient, the added cost isn't too appealing. But they did get back to me and it's the same price as the Canadian Tire one. So gonna venture out again this weekend to get it. All good. :)Re: Adding a 2nd 'Similar' but not Identical Battery? Currently it is (came with trailer): Group 24 550 CCA 675 CA 140 RC The 2nd battery I can get from a local Canadian Tire is: Group 24 65 Amp Hours (?) 675 CA 120 RC http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-nautilus-group-24-starting-deep-cycle-battery-0102499p.html#srp Is it okay to add that one from Canadian Tire in parallel?Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just got 'er! Upgraded after 3 years with a popup trailer. Can't wait for our first trip! 2018 Coachmen Clipper 17BH. Our popup trailer was a Coachmen Clipper 108ST. It served us well and we really like the quality so kept with the same brand.
