It’s a gas engine built on the Ford chassis. I already own a Grand Cherokee but my concern is the Grand Cherokee more than my RV can comfortably handle? It’s nearly 5,000 pounds. I live in the foothills of SC so anytime I head West I’ll be going through some steep terrain. Should I try to find something smaller and lighter? I would appreciate thoughts from more experienced RVers. How much does 30+ feet actually effect ability to find spaceI’ve read that some camp grounds do not accept RV longer than 30 feet give or take. If that’s true, how much does that actually get in the way of finding camp sights? Is it really a consideration when buying a RV? I’m looking at a 34 foot class A for general travel all around the country.Re: General towing guestion - newbieGreat summary. Thanks!Re: General towing guestion - newbieGreat information. Thanks! So what type trucks should I be looking at?General towing guestion - newbieWe plan to buy our first TT in the coming months. It will probably be something in the 8,000 pound (loaded) range. I’m thinking we would like to use a large SUV to tow but from my observations it seems most people have trucks. Should we consider a SUV or is a truck really the way to go? We are experienced travelers having spent the last year on a boat, and will probably be out 4-6 weeks at a time.
