That's the box that houses the solenoid and relay, and it's located on my RV under the unit near the batteries. The breaker will pop at low voltage. When I reset it, the house DC power came on. I'm still concferned that the chassis battery discharged to the point that it was damaged, so I'm bringing it in for a power draw test. Thanks!!Re: House Batteries not working? This is what was inside the box under the RV near the batteries. Can't see a circuit breaker.House Batteries not working?Morning! I've posed here before on pretty much the same issue, and the issue was resolved by my RV Repair Shop, and I'm trying to save $100 to have a circuit breaker reset. I had to put my 25' Class C Holiday Rambler Augusta in storage due to city codes that prohibit me from parking in my yard. Dumb bell me didn't disconnect the batteries, so they drained, including for some strange reason the chassis battery. The chassis battery was so bad, I had to buy a new one, and I hooked up a disconnect on the neutral cable for storing. I brought it home to do the maintenance (they allow 72 hours a month) and discovered my house batteries weren't drained, but I had no house DC power AGAIN, which means anther trip to the repair shop. I went looking underneath for the circuit breaker thinking I knew where it was, and thinking it should be in plain sight - NOPE. I do see a box where the cables go in, and there's an access panel with eight screws that will get me inside, but before I remove it I thought I'd check with the forum for advice. The unit has a battery disconnect switch at the door, right next to the step switch, but it doesn't work (I just ordered a new one). I also plan on adding a disconnect switch to the batteries when I get this circuit breaker issue resolved. Two questions: #1 - Anyone have any idea where the circuit breaker is? #2 - Anyone have an idea why my chassis battery is draining? I thought it was independent from the house? Thanks! RickRe: House Batteries not working? It was a simple fix - and boy do I feel dumb! Took it to my RV mech, and he fixed it immediately. I didn't know that there was a circuit breaker inside the box located about 6 feet from the batteries. Yup, it was tripped. Probably did it when I replaced the old batteries. Thanks to everyone for their help!Re: House Batteries not working?Well, it seems to be a "new' issue. It all worked the last time we camped, because the water pump worked, and now it doesn't. Used a multimeter to check voltage at DC fuse panel, and no juice getting to panel from the house batteries. Really weird because my step works, there's a light on next to the enable/disable switch, and the control panel works. The positive cable from the house batteries runs to a box under the camper, and from there, who knows? Sounds like a trip to the RV ER. Thanks, everyone!Re: House Batteries not working? Thanks for replying. Could you explain coach vs. chassis? Sorry. 2011 Holiday Augusta 25' Class C. When I disable the house batteries(coach?), the red light by the switch goes off, and the step doesn't work. I assume the step is powered by the coach (house) batteries? I understand that that shore power and generator will light up the coach, but without either, shouldn't I be able to "light up" the coach? The DC circuit (fuse) panel is located adjacent to the AC circuit panel. When connected to shore power, or when the gen is on and the AC circuit breaker for the Main and Converter circuits are on, a green light flashes on the DC fuse panel. As I would expect, if I shut off the converter circuit breaker, the green light goes out as well as the coach lights.House Batteries not working?Relatively new to RV'ng, and still getting to know how everything fits together. The way I understand it, I should be able to walk into my RV, and even though I'm not on shore power, and the gen set is not running, I should be able to flick on the lights, or turn on the fans. Well, that doesn't happen. If I plug in, or turn on the Genset, everything works. I thought maybe my batteries were bad, so now I have two brand new deep cycle batteries, and the only thing that works is the step at the door when I open and close the door. Could my converter be bad? Doesn't the converter convert AC to DC? I'm pretty sure it all worked ok when I first bought the rig, but I've never completely boon docked before. Nay help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, RickRe: Need drop receiver and receiver extensionWhat a drag! Oops - sorry! Haven't had a chance to practice yet. Thanks for sharing your experience!Re: Need drop receiver and receiver extensionI have the 7 flat (6 + 1) to 6 round coiled (red).Re: Need drop receiver and receiver extensionThank you, Ron - really appreciate the heads-up. I've heard and read some real horror stories. My service tech warned me about backing even an inch. Regarding the power cable, I'm toying with the idea of splicing about 6 inches into the middle of it. I've had boats for 30 years and there was always something to keep me busy. This is really no difference, except you can't sink!
