To manually retract the slide instructions call for removing one retainer screw and lifting the motor. Sounds easy until one tries to access the motor(s). Is this possible without removing some of the slide trim? A little guidance will be very much appreciated.Re: Tiffin slide malfunctionTo clarify - this is a SCHWINTEK slide. Also, I did contact a local RV Dealer and was told they won't work on a Tiffin slide. Suggested I seek out another Tiffin Dealer.Tiffin slide malfunctionHave a 2013 Tiffin 30GA purchased new. In 2015 the front slide would neither extend nor retract evenly. Had great difficulty getting it in or out. Returned it to the dealer for repair and after discussion with Tiffin they installed a 3/16th inch underlayment for the rollers (which Tiffin covered under warranty). Worked well until we recently experienced the same issue. Have followed the online tutorial and have talked with Tiffin service in Alabama - neither able to correct the problem. Couldn't get a service appointment until May 20! Any suggestions?Re: GPS NavigationThanks for all the responses. I appreciate each of you taking the time and providing your perspective.GPS NavigationLed astray numerous times by our current GPS navigator. Replace every couple of years. Time for another. Cabela's has the Garmin nuvi 2557LMT for $129.99. The Garmin nuvi 65LM for 119.99. The Garmin 55LM for $89.99. Looked at the Garmin website and see numerous models (our current model is from a different manufacturer BTW). Which would you recommend and why?Re: What has happened to Winnebago Quality? Kayteg1 wrote: It is common trend to make things "more affordable" to customer, meaning cheap, cheap, cheap. You see it on house construction, appliances and we have the same problems with Mercedes quality. Having few of them in family (and me being their mechanic) I can tell that 30 years old Mercedes is holding pretty firmly, while on 10 years old things start falling apart. Nothing to do with this post, of course, but i do take exception to automobile quality comments. Having owned numerous cars over my 70+ years, I have no doubt quality today is far better than those of 30 years ago - including Mercedes of which we've owned several over the past 30 years. Currently have one sports model we bought new in 2002 and it's like new - has never had more than routine maintenance. Our newest we took delivery of last summer in Germany and its had absolutely zero issues. Much better than the 80's models we owned - including one that used a quart of oil approximately every 1,000 miles. Various 70's and 80's GM models I've owned were substantially junk - think they generally do a much better job today (except perhaps for ignition switches :)). As to MH quality - I do somewhat agree. Our current Tiffin has had a number of issues, including a failed slide resulting from poor design. A friend purchased a new Phaeton and has far too many serious issues - finally visited the factory. Wish they were as reliable and trouble free as most automobiles are today.Re: Genny issue (still)New fuel pump from Onan for our 7.0kw Onan - $108.71. Easy installation.Re: Onan 5500 Quits RunningGeesh. So many recent similar postings. Mine similar - fault 36 -finally replaced the fuel pump. Problem solved.Re: Genny issue (still)As i've posted on other threads, I experienced several problems with our 7.0kw Onan. Sometimes it would run for hours - perhaps over several days - w/o problem. Then it would suddenly be difficult to start. It would sometimes quit for no discernible reason - sometimes restart immediately - sometimes not. Finally - after sitting for 3-4 weeks - wouldn't start at all. Replaced the fuel pump and all is well once again. In retrospect, I should have suspected and replaced the fuel pump long ago.Re: Onan Diesel Generator problemExperienced a nearly identical situation. Hard starting - sometimes running well but other times shutting down for no obvious reason. Also had error code 36. As I've posted on other threads, finally replaced the fuel pump ($108.71 from Cummins/Onan) and it now runs as new.
