My main reason for getting them was because I got tired of hearing the fan on the convertor running constantly any time we had one or two of the lights on. I really was shocked when I looked at the prices of the so-called American LED light replacements and looked for a cheaper alternative. I now make and sell work lights out of LED strips that I found during my search and have a lot of happy customers. So anyone doubting the quality of these can be assured that they will work for what you want.Re: Dometic Brisk II A/C problems?By the way, I talked to my dealer and he has a call into Dometic to see what they have to say about it. I can't believe that I am the only one that has had problems with this unit.Re: Dometic Brisk II A/C problems? And it just keeps getting better and better. We just got back from a week in the toy hauler and the 3rd a/c unit is now acting up with a new problem. :-( Now after it reaches temperature and it cycles to maintain the temperature, the blower motor comes on and the compressor doesn't. So it shuts off for a few seconds and keeps doing this until the compressor finally kicks on and cools it down.Re: Dometic Brisk II A/C problems? So I guess from the lack of responses here that nobody has had problems with this A/C unit or not many have this unit yet. And.. Yes Doug, both of the units were bad. They both leaked out there charge. I have worked on A/C systems for 25 years and there is no doubt in my mind that they were bad. I'm not sure where the leaks were or what caused them, but I do know that the charge had leaked out. As far as the other issue, the blower motor shuts off and comes right back on a few seconds later. I've seen it do it once during a cycle and then several times during another cycle. It does always come back and complete the cycle until the thermostat shuts it off when it reaches temperature. It doesn't seem to be a big deal right now, I was just curious if anyone else has seen this. TomDometic Brisk II A/C problems? Not sure where to post this at. I'm sure someone will move it if needed. We have a 2014 Work and Play 30wrs that we have about a year now and in the first few months we owned it, the A/C unit had to be replaced twice. Both times it seemed to have lost it's charge and would blow out nothing but hot air. All of them (Including the current one) seem to shut the blower off for a few seconds while the compressor remains running. I was wondering if anyone else has this A/C and has had any problems with it? This last one still seems to work well so far, other than the problem where the blower motor shuts off. Thanks, TomRe: Work and play or similar otrfun wrote: TnTDay wrote: . . . we are now on the third A/C unit . . . Wow, what make and model A/C? Did the first 2 fail for the same reason? I can't seem to find a model number but it is a Dometic unit and appears to be a Brisk II from the Dometic website. Both units seemed to have lost the charge and both units failed after a 6+ hour trip. The last being a trip through West Virginia on I-77. I'm sure there are some people here that know what that trip is like. When we got home from there, I went out to repair the panels that had fallen off the sides of the bed and decided to turn the A/C on since it was rather hot in there. It only blew out hot air at that point.Re: Work and play or similar otrfun wrote: TnTDay wrote: . . . we are now on the third A/C unit . . . Wow, what make and model A/C? Did the first 2 fail for the same reason? It is a new model A/C for this year and I guess the bugs weren't worked out yet. I will have to get the model and everything for you. It seems as if they acquired a leak of some sort. Much smaller size than previous units. Single unit works great for cooling a unit of this size, when it works.Re: Work and play or similarAnd it looks like I need to upgrade my signature. LOLRe: Work and play or similarOk, so I pretty much read most of this and don't post much but I have to chime in here. I have a Work and Play 30WRS and I would like to say that my wife and I preferred the sofa slide over the dinette of the 30WR. We do have a fold out dinette in the garage as well as another fold out sofa and it was the perfect setup for us. There is more floor space and feels much larger than the 30WR unit. That being said, our unit has definitely not been without issues of any of the RV's currently being manufactured. In the first 6 months, we are now on the third A/C unit, the bed completely came apart, the doors on the pass-thru storage leaked, the pull down screen for the cargo door fell off and many other issues. I dealt locally and my dealer has been great and Forest River has been great so far. Not sure what we will run into this season and I hope they will continue to take care of the issues. That will remain to be seen. Now, this all being said, it appears that you are looking for a bigger garage than what we have on this one. My advice on anything that you buy would be to deal locally and not have to travel to get issues fixed. I fixed most of the problems myself, but certain things like the A/C units need to be fixed by the dealer and you certainly don't want to have to travel a long distance to have that taken care of.
