But, I’d be very surprised if a BC cop would ever ticket a new 2500 series diesel pickup, leveled with air bags, towing an 18000 lb fiver. Pretty vague. If the BC cop can just "see" it's overloaded and decide to have you weighed. What if the cop was a Ford hater and missed his morning donut?Owl Creek passI want to go to silver jack reservoir in Colorado next week. Can I take my 33 ft 5th wheel over Owl creek pass?Re: How many of you own an EV?I put down a deposit on a Volvo XC60 plug in hybrid. Best of both worlds - at least with current tech. Over 400 hp and a powerful gas engine.Re: New to fifth wheels - help with trailer weight MFL wrote: A TH usually has a higher pin wt. That is about 25%, where many FWs are closer to 20%. No, that TH pin will not get lighter with toys, as the normal load will be toward the front. With a FW, nearly all weight will be on your rear axle, so that is the most important rating. The newer GM 2500s have a higher RAWR than earlier years. If you loaded your truck, ready to go, with everything in it, including passengers, and full fuel, checked separate axle wts, you would know what you have left for pin wt, plus about 175 lbs for the hitch. Let's guess your weighed rear axle is 3K, and your RAWR is 6,600. You will be close to maxed out, with that trailer. Jerry I believe that a toy loaded in the rear behind the trailer axles will reduce the pin weight.Re: Best HitchAndersen - many advantages - light weight, easy to hook at odd angles and uneven ground.Re: Landing gear all the way down. ford truck guy wrote: I back my truck to the nose and climb into the bed to wash the nose.....
