It would need modification. Has anyone installed a lube kit? Does it affect warranty or insurance?Towing a RAV 4 2011 base with a 2003 Four Winds Majestic 23PThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 27705326Towing a RAV 4 2011 base with a 2003 Four Winds Majestic 23PWe would like to tow our Rav 4 2011 Base with our motorhome, a 2003 Ford F-350 SD XL 2WD DRW, Four Winds Majestic 23P. I would like to ask about: (a) Is this a good idea? We know why we want to do it, see more when we travel. What are the disadvantages. (b) We live in BC and will travel in BC and the US. Is there a list of which states require brake lights to be wired. I understand that adds alot to the cost. (c) I called a local fitter who would be happy to charge labour if I bought the parts. I would be buying Blue Ox towbars and baseplates. I would leave the wiring to them as I dont know enough. Is Blue Ox a good brand? If there is any choice in my situation for Blue Ox, which towbar and baseplate should I go for? Apologies if this has been answered already; I've had the RV for a year and still feel like a newbie in this area.. Best wishes PommyRe: To Awn or Not to Awn?How difficult is a manual awning to operate? I suppose its different per awning?Re: To Awn or Not to Awn?Wow. I wasnt expecting 2+pages of responses. It is an ex rental and that is why there is no awning. After I expressed some disinterest at $1300 the sales guy came back at $1100 but for an 11foot awning fitted plus 12% bc taxes. Everything seems cheaper in the states and since our plan is to go to Washington/Oregon next week we might get one fitted there instead, on the the "grass is greener, or at least less expensive on the other side of the border" principle.Re: pimping an rv with an indoor projector Bill.Winegard wrote: It looks great from my perspective as long as no one has to "p" during the show. Go forward and you will have a great experience at night and a "so-so" experience when daylight can hit the screen. I forgot about p'ing during a movie whilst having a beer! Good point. Thanks. J-mans Dad wrote: My thinking if you want to do this is mount the projector in the cabinets above the sofa and velcro a screen (or white sheet) to the opposite wall. It would be easy to mock this up to see how it works before committing to final install or purchase of a retracting screen. If you can find an Epson Movie Mate, they usually have the DVD player built in with integrated stereo speakers. We will try the velcro idea around the RV before screwing anything in.To Awn or Not to Awn?Buying our first RV. A mechanical awning can be added for $1300 + 12% BC Tax. Our unit is relatively small so we think it would be a good idea but for $1300 we feel its too much of a luxury at this point, early days etc. Do people use their awnings that much? Is there a place in the North West where we could fit one cheaper? Thanks PommyRe: pimping an rv with an indoor projector Kiwi_too wrote: Wow. 50 inches from the big screen. Not for me. I hope you can work out what you want. Good luck. Thanks for your honesty. I will keep it to a minimum budget and see. From the link I provided though I thought we would be more like 5 to 6 feet away. Whatever happens I will report back here re what I think of the products I used and how unrealistic an idea it was.Re: pimping an rv with an indoor projectorI slept on this and thought of the following configuration. Screen is attached to the overhead storage (wooden) on either side of coach in front of fridge and at start of dinette. Projector is placed in gap between cab and coach which we cant climb into anyway as too small. I have edited the image and uploaded it to a flickr account but cant seem to get it to render on here. We thought that at first but it's fine at home in the basement. We have about the same distance from sofa to screen.
