Empty weights with 2 passengers and a full tank of gas: Front axle: 3,620 (max rating = 4,800) Rear axle: 2,980 (max rating = 6,500) Total: 6,600 (max rating 9,900) Same truck with Adventurer 80W, 2 passengers, full tank of gas, loaded for a weekend trip: Front axle: 4,100 Rear axle: 4,980 Total: 9,080 Sticker on the Adventurer 80W lists the wet weight as 2,062. Hope this helps.Re: Wow, people up here are asking insane prices for campers.x2 for Frazerway in Whitehorse. We bought used and saved a bunch, especially with the exchange rate. Worth the drive.Re: What is your SRW truck payload?Truck in signature, 4X4 GVWR = 9,900 pounds Empty truck, full tank gas, 2 passengers = 6,600 pounds Payload = 3,300 poundsRe: Any input on an Adventurer 80RBMy previous post is one of the links from jimh425. My wife and I ended up choosing the 80W instead of the 80RB, and our big decision included the shower. We haven't missed the shower in 15+ nights this year, but most of our trips have only been for 2 or 3 nights. We actually got to check out the 80RB when we picked up the 80W, and it would have worked just fine for us, too. Weights were similar, useable space was similar, features were similar. So far, we're happy with the Adventurer brand. We're actually loading up right now and headed to the hills again with skis, snowshoes, ice cleats, and whatever else it takes to make the most of our crappy southcentral Alaska weather.Re: Mounting roof rack on camperDieselBurps & anutami: can you share the secret for ordering direct? I've called Topline on several occasions trying to buy something other than the 48" bars available through retailers and can't get past the first question: "what manufacturer or dealer do you work for?" I've been told by at least three different customer service reps that they do not sell directly to the general public. Thanks for any knowledge you can share. Or secret handshakes, passwords, etc... :WRe: another newbie truck weight questionThanks for the feedback everyone. I didn't know if things were more complicated than my 8th grade algebra class.... Jaxom: you are correct, I could back onto the scale, but it is a huge hassle given the entry lanes and setup at the dump. That's why I was hoping the easy answer was the right answer!another newbie truck weight questionSorry for another newbie weight question, but I've tried to find the answer in some of the basic info pages on most of the forums here and haven't had any luck. I can easily weigh the front axle separately and the whole truck on the scales at our local landfill, but it is a challenge to get a separate rear axle weight. Front Axle = 3680 Whole truck = 6600 Is the math really as simple as it seems? Whole truck weight - front axle weight = rear axle weight? In other words, does my rear axle weigh 2920? I'd weigh it separately if I could, but it is a royal PITA on the dump scales. No CAT scales or other options anywhere close. Thanks in advance for helping out another newbie!Re: Adventurer 80RB vs 80W: does anyone use the 80RB shower? Thanks, everyone. We understand much of the decision is based on personal preference and how we intend to use the TC. We appreciate the feedback and shared experiences, it is very helpful and has given us more information to consider as we weigh our options!Adventurer 80RB vs 80W: does anyone use the 80RB shower? My wife and I are getting close to pulling the trigger on a new TC for our recently-purchased truck (2006 Chevy 3500 SRW CC/LB, 6.0L gas). We've narrowed it down to an Adventurer 80RB (new 2014 model) or an 80W (new 2013 model). Either will give us lots of room to take "stuff" within our payload (both TC's around 1900 dry weight; truck with full tank of gas and the two of us weighs 6600; 9900 max payload). The main difference between the two models that we can see is that the 80RB has a wetbath/shower and the 80W only has a toilet (it does have an outside shower). We're leaning towards the 80W for a few reasons (dual propane tanks, better storage, bigger fridge, bigger freshwater tank), but appreciate any feedback others have with either model. Does anyone with an 80RB actually use the shower? It seems pretty cramped. Thanks!Re: Vortec 6.0L owners: are you happy? Thanks for the help with the photo, Buzzcut1!
