It will take perhaps a 1000 miles for the shoes to wear in to match the drums. Then the brakes will need to be adjusted again. I agree. My brakes are the newer self adjusting type. These are designed to adjust them selves when going forward. I recently had a wheel bearing/brake service at a dealer. When leaving I manually tried my brakes and they did almost nothing. I used the recommended method from Dexter of manually applying them many times while driving to burnish them in. After 10 or so applications they once again started working well. I would recommend this. B.O. So how Exactly did you manually apply them? Just activate the manual lever while driving alot to heat an up and Basicly form them?Re: Trailer brakesThank you guy! This is my first "big" trailer all my others have always loxked up but they were never over 7k lbs... That was also with a different tow vehicle as well.. Just doesnt feel like it has enough braking power over 50 mph if the emergency lever is being pulled....Re: Trailer brakes donn0128 wrote: Who or how were the brakes asjuated? Trailer brakes need to be tighter than adjusting hydraulic car brakes. My guess the trailer brakes are too loose. I just had them adjusted yesterday from my rv dealer... They said they were way out of adjustment but they are only a little bit better..Trailer brakesIve got a question when applying my manual override lever on my tekonsha p3 controller should my 5th wheels wheels lock up if controllr is set to 13v.... Ive had my brakes adjusted and inspected and I still cant get them to lock up to set my controller per the instructions and then back off to just before lock up.. When unhooked from the TV, my trailer's running lights are not powered. Thank you! That's good to know.. So if I tie into that wiring the camera will work off the Running lights..Re: Back up camera Splashers3 wrote: My Furrion Observation camera also works very well. Mind you, an observation camera is NOT the same as a back-up camera. Back-up cameras come on when the TV is placed in reverse. Observation cameras are on all the time....mine also needs the TV's running lights to be turned on first. How does the furrion work... Does only come on with clearance lights or is it on all the time... Does it drain the battery when unhooked from tow vehicle and parked say in storage?Re: Back up camera 2edgesword wrote: I have this one installed on my 32.5' travel trailer... Yuwei Rear Observation Camera It was easy to install using the wiring that had been pre-installed for a Furrion system but is less than half the cost. The unit as a wide field of vision (~120°) and during a two hour trip at highway speeds (60mph) there were two signal drops that lasted about 1 second each. Other than that it has functioned flawlessly with good video picture quality. Did you have to do any splicing or did it just plug into the existing furrion plug?Re: Back up cameraNot saying cheaper is better... I can't see spending $300 on a backup camera that's all...Back up cameraSorry if this has been asked before.. I tried a search but couldn't find the answer.. So I have a 2017 crossroads volante 310bh and it is prewired for the furrion camera my question is can I buy a different camera/wireless monitor system and have it just plug right into the prewired furrion plug (other cameras are way cheaper then the fusion ones) or will i need an adapter as well? Thanks in advance!Newbie questionPlease forgive me for this question.. Will my 5th wheel's battery still charge if all breakers are turned off and I am still plugged into shore power? Thanks in advance!
